Well…being involved in a whole lot of "suspicious activity" in my 75 years, I've learned that unseen and quiet are two good friends to take along when shooting.

I totally agree. Having recently acquiring a Edgun R5M other owners have mentioned that the sound if the pellet strike is much louder than the guns muzzle noise and they are right. I was using a dirt mound and also a cardboard box filled with rubber mulch. The rubber mulch was much quieter than allowing the pellets to hit the dirt. However I thought further improvements could be made. Others have mention using rubber mats from Tractor Supply. I choose a rubber paver from Home Depot. One paver can be cut in half yielding 2 front panels for my pellet trap. I did a small test putting the paver in front of my cardboard box with mulch and it was much quieter. So I constructed this new pellet trap out of a rubber paver, angle steel, sheet steel, square tubing, flat bar, a hinge, plywood, super magnet and 2 felt pads and 1 bag of rubber mulch, can of paint. The back plywood panel has a sheet of 18g steel in front as a backup if the mulch ever fails. The handle on top that pivots on a hinge has 3 functions. It serves a handle to lift and move the trap, the hole through the square tubing is a aiming device, the hinge combined with the felt pads and super magnet acts as a target clamp.
The damm thing is heavy at almost 37 lbs!
The ugly color choice was the closest I could find to my dirt, out of sight
