Quick question has anyone got a .25 crown and shooting slugs good

Seriously? I couldnt disgree more.

You can watch almost any of my videos (68whiskey) and see my crown doing serious work. Out to 200 regularly on game. Whats ur tune?

im shooting 32.8 vk at 915 fps. Reg at 160. Hammer near max. Shoots like a dream.

it shot great with 36 grain nsa slugs as well with same settings. I even shoot pellets out of it like the liner was made for them.

again what are your settings at? Ill help you if i can

I have tryed my reg at 150,160,170then 175 and adjusted hammer on each and the max speed i can get is 880fps with 34gr i have a ernest rowe hammer weight kit and extra high huma reg ive shot this at 50yrds and it groups are about size of a fist , ive been told from neilsens they need to go well over 900 fps but how i know loads of people struggling with same issue thanks ste

Mk1 impact

I've got the huma reg set at just under140b

Set on max I'm getting 890fps with the 34.7 nsa, groups at 100m.. 1/2 - 1+inch boringly repetitive!

Harmonically tuned it down from 915fps

50/55 shots from 250 to 140 bar

Modded the plenum tube, probe and oval ported the barrel. Quite easily done with basic tools and a little know-how.

Keep trying, start your reg from a lower setting 135/140 with your hammer on max.

Fist size groups at 50 sounds like there is something else at play though...

Good luck, when you get it you will look back and laugh

Guys I do believe you can get a bad liner now and again but besides that I have shot 25cal slug liners and got amazing results they shoot out to 200 yards no problems the 22cal liners are no different then the 25cal liners so I believe that tuned right you should be like everyone else? I would make sure you are shooting with the same slugs and check your liner but I loved the 25cal liner I shot I just ordered mine as well.

I shot nsa 36 grainers at 850 lights out

the same tune throws 32.8 vk at 915 lights out.

This morning i shot a ten shot group with the 32.8 gr checking my zero at 130 yards. Im not kidding all ten were in a 1.5” circle

anything is possible and a bad liner might happen one day. I kind of doubt it though. With no disrespect at all meant, are you used to shooting an one inch or less groups at 100? Again not trying to offend, just understand the variables.

I too am considering the .25 STX Slug liner to shoot the varmint knockers. Factory liner will not shoot them at all. Just have a question on the slug liner does it shoot the JSB 25.39 and 33.95 pellets accurately also. Dont want to be stuck just to slugs for plinking.

Oh yes! Mine shoots pellets, almost all pellets very well! In some cases, better, the 34 mk1, 👍🏻 On slugs, my opinion is don’t get too hung up on this velocity craze? My crown is doing moa or better under 860, not with all by any means, you will need to find your magic bean.

ye ive had my .30 cal barrel on for a while and played perfect but today chucked .25 back on and quickley set up with mkii 34gr pellets found today they are better at 840-850 very tight group not far off pellet on pellet when at 870-880 was worse ive also lubed these too so im hoping on tue when my 34gr slugs come ill have little adjustment well maybe harmonicly tune if anyone has tips on

I've been testing the 700mm .25 slug liner out of both of my Impacts. An ImpactX OEM & an MK1 power modded. I know its a slightly different gun because it has a valve adjuster. But a stock Impact (or Crown if you will) with the 700mm barrel is usually most comfortable/balanced slinging the JSB 34g pellets between 830-880 fps. Maybe a bit more if you have the AMP regulator. Of course you could squeeze out a little more by maxing out the regulator, but at the expense of air & accuracy. So with the same settings as the JSB 34g pellets you're roughly looking at a 36g slug +/- 840fps. Which IMO is too slow to shoot a medium weight slug. Better off just shooting pellets.

So I've been getting my MK1 dialed in (not always as easy as it sounds) and I found the best velocity (at least for the NSA slugs) is about 930 fps. I tried shooting them above that from 950-1050 fps and got poor results.

Just my 2c
