questions:recording with casio exilim camera

Hey guys. I just received my casio ex zr 1000 . Still waiting on my eagle vision mount. I've been reading through the manual and its a lot to take in all at once. I'm just wondering what setting is everyone recording high speed movies? Standard or premium auto pro? Or best shot for youtube ? I want to record at 240 fps then upload to my pc to edit it on windows movie maker. Can I upload video to youtube from there? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use the same camera for my scope cam. 240fps seems to be the best for frame rate and video size. Slowing 240fps down to 20% in post editing still has smooth video throughout. I haven't had a reason to use the faster speeds yet. I primarily use Adobe Premier Pro to edit my videos so I can't advise about Movie Maker. Camera set to 'P'rogram and the AF Area set to 'Spot' works well for me. Also, I recommend turning off the 'Continuous Focus". to prevent the camera from coming off the reticle frequently. If the camera looses focus off the reticle, point the rifle down to blur the background completely then half-press the shutter and get the camera to focus on the reticle. I still likey the Orion scope mount but the Eagle mount is tempting.

OH NOOOO!!! Lol . I hope you weren't too far from home. It sounds like you were. I'm lucky enough to have some property behind the house with no other houses around back there. Come spring I'm building a permanent structure to shoot from. Now I have a temporary shooting platform with a tarp for a roof but it takes a beating with the snow and heavy rain.

Doogy- I have the Casio ZR1000. The difference between the two is, Casio record at 240fps @ a resolution of 512x 384. iPhones can record 240fps @ a resolution of 1280x720. And the iPhone can record audio at this frame rate as well. Casio do not record audio above 30fps. As a matter of fact, I was strictly using the iphone 240fps feature to capture the audio to troubleshoot my Marauder's hammer bounce issues. Anyway, a camera that can capture high resolution at a high frame rate really help for clarity when viewing on a computer or TV. However, when you put another lens (scope) in front of a camera lens, the clarity will be reduced. In our case of scope cams, the background clarity will be reduced. You have to do your best to focus on the target using the AO or side focus adjustment. Recording in HD with the Casio will have the reticle crystal clear because the focal point is the reticle and the camera did not have to go through the scope lens to focus on the reticle. The background (target) is always not as clear. I believe most Casio Exilim cameras have similar features. Check your manual.

Here is the difference with SD & HD on my Casio camera.
Casio ZR1000 240fps @ 512x384 SD
.
Casio ZR1000 30fps @ 1920x1080 HD

Since I have not used my iPhone to record as a scope cam, I believe the results of the video will be similar to the HD video above, but slow-mo capable.

Depuis que je ne l'ai pas utilisé mon iPhone pour enregistrer en tant que came de portée, je crois que les résultats de la vidéo seront similaires à la vidéo HD ci-dessus, mais au ralenti capable.</font></font>
