Question for Taipan Veteran standard .25 owners

Hi everyone.

I own .25 Taipn Veteran compact.I love how i have it setup with Jsb king heavy mk2 34 grain pellets.Very accurate but a little low power for this heavy pellets around 770 fps.

I would love to get those at around 850 if Standard model is capable i would purchase it in near future.

So how many of you shoot .25 standard Vetran with mk2 pellets? I am interested also how many shoots per fill do you get at what speed and how does it do accuracy wise?

Thank you and kind regards.

Marko

My .25 standard is tuned to shoot 25.4's at a average of 957 F.P.S., but when I first got it I shot a 10 shot string with 34's at full power and got an average of 875 F.P.S. with a ES of 10 F.P.S. and 58 F.P.E. I did not shoot till it came off the regulator son I can't tell you how many shots per fill.

That is perfect.Did you later decide to use 25gr?

Thanks

For reference, I shoot the JSB 33.95's out on my Taipan .25 long around 920 FPS max. with regulator at stock setting, and 900FPS to provide accuracy. I would think the standard should be capable of pushing them that fast.

Thanks for the info.Good to know.I bet it is very accurate but for my use standard would be better suited.Do you maybe have some pictures of groups at longer ranges?

I had one for 3 years. I had mine shooting the MK1 & 2 Heavys at 830 or so, very accurate for my applications, sub 50 yds. For whatever reason, the gun really liked that speed for those pellets.

Thanks Mr.H

I am ok with that.I am not obssesed with power.Reasonable speed like that is fine and lower sound and bigger shootcount are also welcome

I have a long that I shoot the 34's out of.. I just wanted to see what they would do in the standard. I intended to shoot the 25.4's when I got the standard for a flatter trajectory than the 34's would give. The standard is for packing in the woods

In this case it is logical that you use it with kings.

Thanks again

I will post a few pictures once the weather cooperates to go out and do some shooting. I may need to fine-tune the speed for best groups at distance, so I will do it in conjunction with tuning. I did sort a tin of the 33.95 gr Jsb's last night, with one at 33.04 and a high of 35.00 gr. I sorted into groups of XX.1X, XX.2X, XX.3X and so on, so groups with be shot with pellets that are within. 09 of each other by my scale.

I may do a statistical analysis of pellets weights per tin once I get a fresh unopened one depending on time. It would be interesting to see the distribution of weights as compared to stated weigh to see if it looks like a normal distribution, or if it is skewed in any way.
