Question?

Your scope dosent care which end is up, or which side its laying on. No harm will be done if the rifle that its mounted on is put in a case for the trip out, or the trip back. Soft sided cases are very popular now, but dont offer the protection that a hard case does. However, handle rifle and scope with care, And, most important, make sure the metal parts of scope and rifle are dry and clean before putting them away. Dont get any oil on the scope lenses! I always dry everything off with an old towel and apply a very light coat of oil as soon as I'm through shooting. The most important thing to remember is: DONT STORE GUNS IN THEIR CASES, especially soft cases. Case linings absorb moisture. Moisture, in contact with metal, causes corrosion, (aka: RUST)! Enjoy the hobby and take care of the tools, (toys).

CK94 thanks, I was just thinking the internals might be effected by gravity like the adjustment springs etc. Ive seen posts about poi changes after guns sitting over night and having to re zero. Just a thought .

That may be the case for cheap scopes. If you have a good scope it wont matter if you hang it upside down and smack the gun every night it will still be on zero.

cheap vs good scopes , cheap scopes will fail in short order, fail to hold zero, poi shifts , glass gets cloudy. good scopes last years, sometimes many years. figure what kind of shooting your going to do. if it is plinking at 20-40 yards grab like a hawke vantage for a 100. if your hunting or shooting consistently at 50-100 yards get some thing like an aztec emerald for 400. if your shooting springers IDK, maybe swfa fixed 10x for 300 really depends on your shooting needs and your budget. these are just couple recommendations.

to get the full info go see cyclops videos on youtube by joe rhea. he can really fill you in on scopes at ALL prices.
