QB78 (79)2078... stock on a Gauntlet

I recall someone asking if any knew for CERTAIN and I had only eyeballed ours so.

Bored today & stuck indoors. Scoped an old keeper , that had been for sale, best darn trigger, high or low $ "I" like the old style ( NO safety) AA match trigger group. That proverbial "breaks like a glass hair" feel. "knowing" something about airgun triggers I was surprised after a pro touched it up years ago.

Put a Hawke Vantage ($125.00) that had been sitting NIB for a year, POS ! Oh yes indeed, must write w review on this Brick o Bunk - a Lemon is way to kind a comparison- then pay a bit to return it to Hawke who, to their credit has likely warranted more scope than any other company per unit.

Still fun popping off a few shot , getting rid of the 2 yr old air & refilling. Pretty well a golden barrel on the old AA.

Again bored thought I would put a Ninja pro 1,100psi reg on the Gauntlet ( this one came set at 850ish and just swapping bottles is easiest so). Remembered the request for Fact and tried it.

THE difference you will notice is the stock to valve/rifle bolt on the Gauntlet is a smaller Dia that any QB. I was able to use the factory Gauntlet bolt with a QB customized factory stock. I believe you would want to add 1-2 washer if a stock stock G bolt is also a hair longer.

To fit a QB78 stock you would need to mod out the forward most 3" of the stock. If you dump the extra shim/bracket the side screw go into very with widening would be need and it looks enough deep to fit drop down & all w/out anything showing. Might(?) need to cut a slight bit.

A QB79 stock would fit BUT the airtube IS Longer in the Gauntlet. It is as long as a &* can be cut for a drop down, surprise.

You would need to carve out to the inside of the bracket ( leaves plenty on the side , screws used or not) and about where it would be on a QB78 stock..

Gauntlet v Pro built QB78 with tube cut a long as possible for drop down adaptor.

With my favorite FT QB stock installed ( before 1,100psi tank-.

Testing both tomorrow weather be darned.

edit:

Stock bolt hole on Gauntlet is smaller Dia also, correct screw or slightly open the hole through the plastic and a QB fits into a Gauntlet stock.
