Pyramyd air shipping

Has anyone ugpraded from standard shipping to 2 day ground and had issues? I place an order week before last on 7/20 with standard 4 day shipping, it was picked up on 7/23 and arrived on 7/26, so arrived in three days after it was picked up. Last Friday, 7/27 I placed another order this time I paid the extra for "two day" shipping. My order was picked up 7/27 and will be delievered on 8/1, it was in transit on 7/28,30,31 and will be delievered on 8/1, four days in transit.

Am I the only one that see something wrong here?

Don't.

Seriously, the issue here appears to be with the shipping firm (UPS) and not with PA. @JimNM, don't the shipping firms all have boilerplate language that gives them a "cushion" in shipping times? Something about weather, road conditions, and other such imponderables that can cause shipments to slip past the intended delivery date?

You may very well be right. It just bites my butt to not get what you pay for. Maybe I expect too much.

Saturday is not a UPS shipping day unless you pay for Saturday delivery, and only available on 1 and 2 day service. Normal 1 service (red label) day shipped on Friday delivers on Monday. You can pay extra for 2day Saturday delivery, and 1 day Saturday delivery.

Otherwise, their 2 day, 3 day select and ground service does not deliver (hence not a normal "shipping" day) saturdays. The package will continue to transit in a semi trailer or on a train car on Saturday, but it won't go on a local van for delivery on Saturday, hence it is not a shipping day. The time the shipping department prints a label and sticks it on a package is immaterial if the package is late getting to the ups hub. There is a cut off time for air service.

Yes, acts of God, weather and other things outside of the shipping companies control are excluded from the service contract.

Really, life is too easy if we get upset about our toys arriving a day or two later than we want. It's all about perspective. What is really important?

Thanks buddy for the negative mark . I like to help people, even you. You asked a question and got an answer, yet you lash out at the people who offer you help. what really is important to you?

HAVE A GREAT DAY

Jim I don't know who this is aimed at, but if it's me you're misguided. I haven't left a negative mark for anyone.

Im also a shipping manager. NEVER order 2 day sgipping on a Friday. Pick up day does not count as a shipping day. Weekends and holidays dont count (yes they will move and scan pacakges but they dont count for guarantee delivery) so Monday is condsidered day 1. It is what it is. The shipping companies are in this to make money and will gladly charge you a lot extra for Saturday delivery. We would get so many complaints and claims filed that we had to eliminate our express offerings. Unfortunatly this is something beyond PAs control. And yes it sucks that you dont get the service you paid for and perhaps PA should explain this a little better on their website, but according to UPS your package will arrive in the promised time frame.

Please explain? I've already shown my ignorance as to how shipping works.

PA advertises that orders placed before eithe 11AM or noon will ship same day, my order was placed well before that time. UPS picked the order up on the day it was placed. Throw out the weekend, that leaves my order leaving on Monday. My thinking is that it should arrive Tuesday afternoon, not Wednesday. It looks like I need to adjust my reasoning.

Thanks, Justin
