In the past years 100's of unwanted birds ( mostly sparrows) have been raiding my sunflowers.
I purchased a FX SL in 177 just to kill these birds. Last evening about 7:45 pm. I took my rifle down to the sunflower field ( ~3 acres).
I have wire across the field for the dove to sit on. When I arrived I saw ~ 30 on the wire and more in the sunflowers. I lowered the window on my Silverado and started plinking birds from ~ 35 yds.. after three, 13 round magazines I put a hurting on them. I only missed 7 times. I shot 5 shots at one and finally gave up.. It was like a shooting gallery.. The birds were just falling from the wire. I was so happy. The JSB exacts were just deadly and knocked the feathers out of them. I shot one and then lined up on another and the "sparrow snow) drifted thru my cross hairs where I was lined up on another bird. I got tickled and started laughing and had to stop to settle down, Too much fun!!!
