Protecting guns from dents and dings in your safe

I am not a hunter, just a target shooter and admirer of fine out-of-production HW's and FWB's and I try to keep them in as fine a shape as possible.

I use heavy cardboard pieces cut from appliance boxes and the like to make partitions between rows of guns so I don't clink guns together when taking one out or putting one back.

I gutted my safe of the factory interior that staggered the position of guns in each row and made a new interior of straight rows 2 guns deep so I never have to take more than one gun out to reach one in the back. This layout also allows for the cardboard partitions where the staggered arrangement did not. I cannot store as many guns with this configuration but that is okay, I never liked them crammed in there like sardines in the first place.
