Projects

Fed Ex delivered two Crosman 2240xl pistols today that I bought for projects. First one is rather simple, I already had a trigger unit built up with a super sear, roller trigger and a Crosman adjustable sear spring so that was a quick change out, I then installed a Hawke red dot sight. Final thing will be a Donny FL silencer but it is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Went out and shot a bit, first shot at 30 yards hit a soda can, but impact was a little to the left so a paper targer and a few mintes had groups hitting aim point.

Next one will see a change to .177 cal, I have a Lothar Walther barrel, a muzzle brake looking front sight, and a Crosman 1701p trigger group ready for it, and a LPA rear sight in the mail.

I have one more project planned on this platform, basically building what is a 2300s, but in .22 cal. Again I already have a 1701p trigger group ready, and a 1701p front sight assembly along with one of the williams rear sights. I am awaiting the barrel and lower tube and already have all other small parts ready.

Got the rest of the parts in today. Put the moderator on and it does quieten the gun a good bit, not as much as anticipated but still good.

The other was more involved, took it all the way down except for removing the valve. Replaced the .22 barrel, installed a new bolt that was supplied with the 1701p trigger assembly. It looked a little strange, large flats on either side, but it seems to work fine. I did most of that work this morning, getting rather proficient at taking down and assembling one of these The trigger group was already assembled, as I bought it completed from an ebay seller, I did not have the rear sight in hand but everything else probably took a little over 30 minutes . The sight arrived this afternoon in the mail and I installed it, basically eyeballing centering it in the dovetail. When I went out to shoot, first at ten yards it was only about two clicks off center, and then I moved things out to 30 yards, a couple of clicks up and it was good. I have some soda cans hanging for reactive targets and they were easy off a rest at that range.
