ProChrono Ballistic meter

Sunlight is pretty important for those to work right. I think it probably mentions that in the manual but I could be wrong. I know some people will wire up LEDs (or something can't recall) so that they work better in low light conditions. 

You need more light. Wait for a better day or rig up some artificial lights.

Get the light set for it, I use it on mine, and it is a rare occasion that I get an error reading, day or night. Best part I can use it in the basement with a pellet trap/stop.

I have the same model and always use the light kit. It rarely misses any shots with it.

I put some led strips on mine, and run them with a usb power bank. It works very well and doesn’t miss a shot. 

I’ve used the pro chrono going back about 15 years and recently got the DLX version that talks to my phone. I think they are great units. I find that on a sunny day it works best to keep the unit in the shade if possible but looking up at the clear sky. On over cast days you will still need it to be bright. It works great with soft overcast lighting as long as it’s bright enough. When it’s overcast I take off the diffusers. Also make sure there are no tree branches or anything that interrupts the sensors view of the sky.

As mentioned above; the best method is to get the light kit that they offer. A little pricey but works very very well. You can use it at night or indoor and it very rarely misses a shot. I even use it outdoor during the day if I have power close enough. I just keep it out of direct sunlight and let the lights do their thing.

I did these on the cheap, they work great and are much brighter than this photo shows. 

Yes, just normal leds. These are particularly nice and have a clear rubbery coating on them. I’d post a link, but haven’t had any success posting links from the great Amazon. I can try to pm you a link if you’d like.  These work well for me. 

I just cut up a long usb cord, and brought them together into a single connector.
