Problem 787965788 stupid hatsan

I am at my last straw. Finally go to zero in the new hatsan after the other was returned and this was a new replacement. Put scope on. Shoot and to zero it I have to max out the elevation. Only way to get it to where I am only using 1/3 of negative elevation is to add .1000 or almost 1/8” of shims to rear rail mount. WHY!?!?!

now remember I had this same scope and mounts zerod on the other hatsan and used maybe 1/3 of elevation at 33 yards. This is at 15 yards. At 50 I’ll be lucky to not use most of the elevation adjustment. I don’t get it.

Not low enough to have to whim back of rail .100 and then use over 1/3 of the elevation adjustment. At least I wouldn’t think. If I don’t use the .100 shim in rear then the elevation is maxed all the way out. Basically at 15 yards I shoot center and hit ground.

shim yo rear shoot center almost hit ground. Adjust zero by 1/3 of available elevation

Such type problems are common with airguns-you will read lots of posts about MOA rails, adjustable rings, shimming, and even bending barrels to correct such. Your particular setup is unfamiliar to me so others who know that gun will probably have better advice. I would certainly suggest making sure that the base is attached correctly and that the rings are correctly seated on the base. People have mis-mounted these things in the past.

Can the barrel be rotated 180 degrees or is the mount at the wrong angle?

The barrel cannot be rotated any at all as it only has one flat spot for the 2 set screws.

I thought it might have been the grommet around the barrel but removing the grommet around the barrel only went from 4” off to 3” off at 15 yards with elevation maxed out. I’ll end up with a little over 1/8 think of spacers or shims in the rear to correct the issue. This should fix the issue I am having hopefully since the shins I have now helped a lot.
before and after shims right now it’s .100 shims

I've read of others using a section of an old credit card, ect. as a shim under the rear of the pic-rail (where it connects to the receiver) to correct this problem.

Picture in post above yours of that exact thing. Currently spaced or shimmer up right under 1/8th inch. .100. Need a longer bolt and I’ll add another spacer to get to a true 1/8th.

well you are of the right track, just fix it

but for a manufacture to make this error, that should never happen and be a warning to other buying there product

Gamo is a company that will not sell you most parts, so they give you no support, i wonder why we should give them our business

and yes i own a few Gamo products and when i needed a part i had to get them from Spain
