Pro Chrono vs FX Chrono?

I've had several Chronographs and I really like the FX. If you do choose to go with the FX I completely agree with MacGyver that you shouldn't hang it off barrel. I have hung it off the barrel and off the extended pic rail and it makes a difference.

I have a new in the box ProChrono DLX and light kit I would sell. I ordered one from one vendor, never showed so I cancelled my order, ordered from another and then both showed up in a few days. Of course I was charged for both. Word of advice, don't order from Optics Planet. They are backed up three weeks before they can even contact you.

Anyway, mine is awesome. I had the old green Shootin' Chrony thing for years, and it always gave me issues. The Prochrono flat out works and the light kit is great. Zero complaints from me.

Never used the FX and I never will.

Have LabRadar and FX. Just for the sheer convenience and my need for only limited data (muzzle velocity) the LabRadar just never comes out any more.

OTOH when I see a question here on the forums, I have no hesitation to take the FX out into the back yard to measure a few shots so I can provide a quick and easy answer.

Also, I have tested the FX chrony on light powder burning rounds (I shoot Cowboy Action, so our rounds shoot pretty slow, in the 1000-1200 fps range). Worked like a treat and so easy!

I have the ProChrono DLX and works fine including the app for the mobile phone. I do have the light kit for indoor shooting as the DIY hockey puc led light trick never worked that great for me. The factory light kit works perfectly but do wish it had a simple battery option. I originally considered the FX but it could not double duty for powder burners since it is limited to 1100 fps so that pushed me to the Pro Chrono. When FX first came out with the chrono I remember reading many forum posts describing it as glitchy, but it seems I have heard just good things as of late.

That sucks! I ordered the exact same model and also ordered the indoor light kit and carrying case. I ordered it since August 8 and there has been no update on it. At least they haven't charged my card yet so I think I'm going to cancel the order and place the order from another company. It's so sad because I've ordered a lot of items from Optics Planet and never had a problem with them. Thanks for the heads up.

That's how my ordeal went, and I put in to cancel my order three times before it shipped. All ignored. Charged my card and sent it on anyway.

Midway shipped it next day.

I have the Pro Chrono and love it. It has always worked regardless of bright sunshine or cloudy/shady areas or right before dark. Bluetooth works great and no issues. When I first purchased it in the Spring the Android APP was not saving some files properly to my phone the way I wanted it to do. With one E-mail to the MFG, I had a guy working with me and within a few days their software guy and I had it sorted out and working by letting me test out some different code to see what worked the best. I have noticed with my recent APP updates they have added this to the version on the APP Store. Doesn't get any better than that in my world. Have not used the FX although I had considered it, my limited budget made me pass over it...

After several bad transactions, and no good ones, I'm convinced that Optics Planet is a closet with a single computer and they order from their suppliers only after you've ordered from them. Anyone ever got anything from OpticsPlanet that *wasn't* backordered? I don't have a line on your chrono, but I'll bet you can get it somewhere else faster at the same price.
