Prism for Prod/1720t?

Grabbed the spitfire 5x today, will have the 1720 in the next day or two -- it's arrived from shipping just need to pick it up.

After playing with it some more at home, really impressed with it for the size. IO 5x30 should be here sometime next week, too.

Yeah when the IP arrives I'll try and post some pictures.

Had to file the two contact points on the adapter where the fixed claws on the Spitfire scope engage -- plenty of unmolested rail for the unfixed part of the grabber to engage still though.

Should note that that's with the short Spitfire mount. The normal tall mount would almost certainly be too high with any carbine stock. The Spitfire comes with both.

How is it? Shot it yet? 


I would try the super low profile adaptor but try it with carbine stock first if you plan on going that way. It’s really quite small for what it is. Very nice!!!

It's going to TKO for one of his screw off tube stocks and some other things. Taking it to the range today to shoot enough to confirm function and then sending it out Monday

When it gets back I'm going to do the final optics setup and I'll post some groups etc.

FWIW I didn't notice parallax issues with the Spitfire 5x at 50 or at 25 yards. I didn't have a bench rest, just using a bipod with my leshiy 2 but I was able to get sub 1 inch groups at 25 yards on the bull which is about as good as I can shoot without a rest.

I think I was missing the forest through the trees inre the Spitfire Ii and the 1720.

Pretty sure those won't work with the stock Spitfire mounts -- there's a center block and the two bolts that are spaced to fit into three consecutive standard spec picatinny slots -- so on one of the slip in clamp adapters like that, I'm pretty sure the two bolts would impinge the sides of the adapter.

Its a clever design on Vortex's part, but it complicates things a little.

@2L8 post in here if you could about those two red dot/picatinny to dove tail adapters in your other thread. Relevant!
