PP700 (.22cal) –– What Regulator Setting for 12FPE?

I am a total nubee at messing with stuff that the manufacturer never meant to be messed with.... 😵

But it seems like airgunners are especially guilty of this practice....

So, help me out. Because I've got a gun laying opened up on the operating table....

In put a Huma reg into a PP700S-A .22cal.

I would like to get around 12FPE with lighter pellets (JSB Express and RS).

To what bar setting should I dial the Huma to before doing a shot string with different HST settings?

Thanks!

Pm "Wesbob" hes a retailer for artemis and tunes them for buyers.

jwrabbit123 and rj,

thank you for your input!

🔶 Of course, we know this isn't considering different transfer ports, different size of plenums, 25mm vs. 21mm barrel length, and other "minor" details.... 😄

And, obviously the PP700 won't be as high quality = efficient as the Leshiy....

And it is not built to achieve 30FPE like the Leshiy, maybe 20FPE at most.

So, I guesstimate:

Leshiy: 12FPE ➔ 80bar

Leshiy: 30FPE ➔ 130bar

PP700: 12FPE ➔ in the middle of 80 and 130 ➔ 105bar, or so it seems.... 🤔

🔶 Now the PP700 Huma has settings from 85bar min to 150bar max.

And the PP700 must have the capacity to be tuned down to 6FPE — for our British AG brothers in arms who suffer from draconian legislation. 😟

And I read that tuners have been getting 18FPE and more out of this pistol.

So, I guesstimate again:

6FPE ➔ 85bar

18FPE ➔ 150bar

12FPE ➔ 117bar, or so it seems.... 🤔

@ GlemChally,

I'll check with Bob, he's a good guy. Excellent idea of yours. 👍🏼

Any more comments, maybe someone with the actual gun? 😊

Theralld, run that by me again, would you? Sorry, don't understand 1/2.... 😊

And yes, today I did a few test shots. And, WOW, this pistol can be a beast!! 😄

—Huma reg to 150bar.

—HST pretty much screwed in (not sure if I can get some more, didn't have a wrench, just a pair of pliers).

—Transfer port = ? (Sorry, I need some help on that, don't know what to do there and how.)

And I got almost 18FPE with a light JSB Express (14.35gr)...!!! 😄

Very exciting!

So you can install a regulator and adjust the hammer spring with pliers, but you don’t know what to do with the transfer port screw? It simply chokes off air to the pellet. That is done by turning it in. Fairly straightforward process. In your original post you stated you wanted to achieve 12 FPE, the gun does that right out the box in .22 now you’re going higher? Trying to understand...

L.Leon, 😊

yeah, I probably sounded confused!

I'm brand new to this modding and adjusting game — with me a gun stayed the way the manufacturer delivered it....

I'm lacking the extensive experience many of you guys have in taking things apart, of the style: "I bought a new gun last week. It shoots great. Today I took it apart."  🤣

THANKS to you guys on the forums I'm moving out of my comfort zone...! 👍🏼

So, about the transfer port — I thought that was something you needed to drill out to get more power...? That's why I didn't look into that — I wasn't ready for something that invasive (yet 😄)!

Now if there is a simple screw to turn, I better look into that! Thanks, L.Leon. 👍🏼

Power... — yeah, who isn't infected by the power bug....?! But I do want to stay at sub-12FPE.

Just yesterday I had a brief time before it got dark to take a few shots, so I did — and without setting the reg to the 110bar that I estimate will give me those 12FPE. 👍🏼

I'm just amazed at the power of a pistol — I can hang right there with magnum springers three times its size...! 😄

No need to explain having fun and tuning your airgun. Thats what this is all about!
