Wanted to set my .22 Uragán up to shoot the 25.39gr RD Monsters. As most know, this pellet, unlike most Diabolo pellets, likes very high speeds approaching 1,000 fps.
Huma installed. This naturally creates a larger plenum in the Uragán as the Huma is so compact and much smaller than the factory reg set. All the gained room is filled with regulated volume. With that said, the Uragán is ready for power. It has large porting from valve-housing through the action port. I upped Huma to 150 bar and achieved 972 fps.
That’s not good enough, I thought. Wanted to polish the bore and figured while the barrel is off, I’ll look at opening the barrel port.

Opened, tapered to from OD to bore, radiused toward downstream flow and deburred ID. Lapped bore.
This gained an additional 38 fps to 1010 fps. Wow, the Uragán likes breathing
. From here I lowered the Huma to 142 and set hammer spring to achieve 985 fps.
I plan to get to the range, maybe tomorrow, and see how she does at 100 yards. Love this platform. Robust, smooth and refined with a great magazine
Not to mention the CZ accuracy and big shot count. I think I’ll get some slugs coming too
