Power Tuned .22 Cricket Pup 11/14/18

Wow Dan, you went all out on those two pups. I envy you man! Awesome. Keep us updated!

I lucked out on this 17" barrel in my Cricket. It is top notch and am too scared to swap it out for a longer barrel as it might not be as accurate as this one? It's at it's limit, but would love to see what it would do pushing them faster!

@zx10wall, Derek, have you done a power tune to the .22 mini Carbine yet, and if so, did you use the power plenum and adjust reg pressure? I’m looking to get my mini shooting the 25.4 grain RD Monsters at about 880 FPS, is that possible and still retain a decent shot count, say 35 shots from a 250 bar fill? Thanks,

Mike

I haven’t gotten the opportunity to power tune a mini yet. According to the below specs, it would require the same exact tune I did on Jimmy’s .22 pup. They have the same specs with a quoted 17.5” barrel. Getting 30 shots at 885 fps from a 230 bar fill required: lighter firing-valve return spring, port & polish of the firing-valve, added plenum, .25 HS and metal HST adjuster. Adjusted reg to 148-150 bar. I also changed all of Jimmy’s o-rings and tuned.

Very carefully 😁. The only way I can recommend that it be done is with a reg tester. You can get one from John Hagan ~

Watch Ernest Rowe’s videos to get familiar with the process~

You can jack your gun up and risk injury if you don’t know what you’re doing or have the correct tools. With that said, I always encourage fellow airgunners to learn the workings of their guns and do their own maintenance.

Hey guys

Just a heads up on the Kalibrgun .22 Mini Carbine. It has a 15.35 inch barrel

Steve of AEAC got back with me after he measured his Mini's barrel and say's it measured 15 & 3/8 inches!!! Which matches what the Kalibrgun site states that the barrel is 390mm or 15.35"

http://kalibrgun.ru/en/weapons/cricket-mini-carabine-wst-cal-5-5-22/

I know a few of you were talking and considering a power tune for it on this thread. Just wanted to bring that to your attention?

Derrick mentioned he could have got more power out of my Pup if I would have a had a longer barrel. And it's shooting the 25 gr at 885 fps with the 17.5" barrel, so I would imagine that 15 inch barrel would knock the velocity down to say 850 fps with the 25 gr?

I think that it is more suited to the 16 or 18 grain pellets as currently built? Maybe Kalibrgun will consider a longer barrel option for them in the future?

Peace and CZ barrel grease

Well, Steve mentined something about .25 Cal maybe being available? I have not heard anything about that from Charlie. Also, it’s really weird how these compnies do, the Capibarra was advertised quite a while ago, and all I hear is .....(wait for it.......) Crickets!

Christian, weren't you sending yours in for a tune? Power tune or something else?

Christian, I see.... I have sort of always been of the efficiency mindset as well brother , which is why I was scared to get my pup power tuned, but Dang....I'm glad I did! Just never been much of a hundred yard shooter? Now I got another goal to reach!

Can't wait to hear from you when you get her back from Charlie.

Derrick, thanks man, yeah I didn't want to leave any disinformation out there as I think I had mentioned in an earlier post that the barrel was 16.5"

I got the 16.5" from one dealer and you got the 17.5" from another.
