Power Plenum ~ Taipan Veteran

Got a very nice .25 Taipan Veteran from Tony at TalonTunes. Had to get the laminate stock too in Coffee. It delivered and was all I hoped for. I maxed it out shooting the 33.95 King Heavies at a 920 fps plateau and dialed it back for 900 fps. I was getting about 28 shots from a 250 bar fill

I never keep guns in factory form so, Ernest has developed a Power Plenum for the Vet. Got one on the way in a short short. Installed that dude and lowered reg pressure from 150 bar to 135 bar. I also did a little port/polish on the firing-valve and polished the dual transfer port while in there.

I am now getting 42 regulated shots with the King Heavies from a 250 bar fill at 900 fps 💪🏼. I’d say I hit the target 🎯 Speaking of, it shoots great but will wait until I get it to 75 - 100 yards before I get excited. It does prefer the original King Heavies over the MK2s.

I am now ordering some goodies from @Papy_Yosh and I plan on getting a Koi from Donny to complete this awesome pup. That trigger, dang, why can’t the other manufacturers take a page from the Taipan book 😁

Beautiful pup and nice work! That laminate stock looks awesome. Now that you have the extended plenum, do you plan to add a rear spacer for the factory moderator/shroud to push it forward and line up with the air cylinder or to run a bigger diameter moderator? Will the DonnyFL Koi fit without rubbing against the air cylinder?

Thank you. I’m going with the Koi. It will fit perfect and help a bit. It’s not terribly loud with just the factory shroud but could use a little help with the 61 FPE.

That's awesome!!!

Love the coffee lam stock really looks nice...

Power plenum? Do you contact Ernest directly? I'd like to try that out on my .22 long. I'm getting about 30 shots maxed out right now shooting slugs...sounds like I could really step that count up! And by looks will have to change out the LDC...

Not trying to hijack the post, but where did you get this stock and are stocks for other guns available from this maker?

My .25 taipan long, don shot good with the koy ..has to be a summo or shogun..

Well, I’ve already shot it with a Koi from my buddy and it was great and pretty darn quiet. Backyard friendly for sure. Take into account that I’m running a lower reg setting than you, that is if your running factory 150+ bar.

I’m thinking about the shorter Tanto actually.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a plenum shouldn't increase shot count more than a tiny bit (adds a small amount of overall air capacity to the gun) . Porting would, however add more efficiency. Necessitating less air usage for equal power

What increases the shot count is lowering the regulator’s set point. The plenum and porting allows for the same power (if desired) with a considerably lower regulator setting.
