possibility of FX IMPACT liner barrels

I hope FX might create a barrel shroud with barrel and use the liners of the Royal Crown to give the Impact the same versatility at the same price ( plus the cost of the adaptor shroud and barrel tube for the liners). Probably be less expensive then the $500.00 per caliber for the Impact now and give you the rate of twist option too. What do you think? GBGUNNER

I hadn't though about the possibility of them making an "adapter" barrel for the Impact, but it would certainly be a nice touch. I've been waiting 2 months for a .177 barrel for my impact and I expect that barrel liners will have the same limited availability. I will be impressed if AOA actually has them in stock, and not always sold out.

I'm disappointed that they will be focusing on making barrel liners, rather than focusing on making regular barrels for people that are ALREADY WILLING TO BUY THEM AT THE CURRENT PRICE!

GBGUNNER. I hope so too. I think the barrel system is important for the impact.
The original smooth twist barrel is really only optimised for one or two different JSB pellets.
Yet we have all this ability to change the velocity and tune the gun.
Bit of a waste if all that is only to find the sweet spot
for a couple of specific pellets!
I think that's part of the reason it has been developed in the first place.
Fingers crossed it happens.

Hi Michael. Glad to here your optimistic. I for one would be very excited to start experimenting with the new barrels on my impact.
Oh and I ordered a Crown yesterday to round off the
look in my gun safe! Grey laminate, match trigger, .25 cal. Have 6 months to save the penny's!!
Exciting times ahead.
Thanks for all your work keeping this forum running
smoothly. I've learnt a lot here.

The wise business-man certainly wouldn't just release their new design into old rifles, they'd make a version 2 thats incompatible with version 1 or just leave it implemented solely on this as its used as a marketing tool for itself.

Unless I am missing something, the barrel itself is the MAIN difference between this FX rifle and any of their others.

I wondered if they'd want to spread the X barrel across other rifles, but the Impact and Crown will be the two top end rifles, and they have a very different format. I don't think it would hurt sales to put the new barrel in both of those rifles. I think there are people who wanted the adjustability, and maybe bought the Impact even though they don't prefer bullpup designs. I on the other hand wouldn't buy the Crown even to get the new barrel because I like bullpups.

AOA is getting a new shipment of Impacts next week, but sadly I'm still not guaranteed a rifle yet. On the other hand, maybe I'll get delayed until they offer the new barrels :)

Cheers,
Rusty
