Portable Power Bank

This past year I have really gotten into carrying a power bank with me into the field. I use these units to charge all my camera equipment, run light kits and phone. This is one of those things that have become a major help to me on the longer trips. Thought I would share my experience with one of the smaller affordable units.

Nice informative video Dana, by the way why dont you lower the globe on your gas/wick lantern down over the wick base where it is intended to be? It should help keep the flame steady on breezy days. I've seen you use it in a few of your videos now and the globe is always in the raised position.... just curious.

Thanks, I actually only used it once as I film several videos on one trip. Most people don't realize you have to season the wick's, unfortunately I didn't have time so ran it anyway. The wick needs to be soaked overnight otherwise it won't burn correctly.

Ok, that explains it. Its kind of neat seeing that old style lantern being used in your video. It reminds me of the one hanging in our hunting cabin. It was recovered by some of our elders that used to hunt in that area, it was recovered from a trappers shack someone once build out in the middle of nowhere, they say that when they stumbled across the shack this lantern was still burning, table was set but the trapper never returned. They figured something must of happened to him out there in the woods.

I recall seeing remnants of the cabin frame but it had long since been dilapidated and rotting away but the big timbers that they cut into rectangular logs for the walls were still there...either that or they were old railroad timbers I am not sure as they were covered in moss when I first seen them when I was old enough to hunt deer.

Thanks for your hard work putting these videos together!
