Polymags punch pretty holes

This is my 1st time shooting polymags and wow, they DO make a pretty sharp hole, don't they!

The weather here was crappy, but at least it was not raining so what the heck :) And unlike my backyard where I shoot from a bench, I was shooting from a cheap walmart monopod. No groups were stunning, but it's so much fun to shoot and see improvement. The group above was the best group of the day.

Here are my earlier few magazines of pellets and their targets. Not so hot. In fact, I did a good job totally avoiding the actual target!

And a wide shot of my next targets:

Again, nothing I want to hang on my wall, but I could feel each target getting better and realized how much more muscle control is needed when not on the bench. And small changes make such a big difference... trigger follow through, loose hold vs. snug hold, breathing.

Distance was 62 yards and and the polymags used were 16 grains.

And they sure look good in the magazine :)

Oh yeah, one more pic. I found a random weed off to the side at about 30 yards. Another nice hole :)

Ha! Yeah, I can imagine the sound :)

@bowman, I really like the Bigmax quite a bit. I have learned A TON from doing some basic mods to it! I should also preface this by saying I bought it from PA during their pre-blackfriday sale and got a great deal on it. In other-words, I would have a hard time paying full-price for it.

Cons:

  • Rather pellet picky
  • Loud w/o a moderator
  • Very limited hammer spring adjustment
  • Yes, you have to dump air tanks to adjust the HS (I have a shoebox compressor so that's OK)
  • Not very efficient (but still gives LOTS of shots)
  • No parts availability. I asked PA if they can sell me an extra air tube (for the rear tank) and they said they could scavenge one if mine broke or started leaking, but they don't have parts to sell.

Pros:

  • Simple to work on
  • Really accurate with JSB monsters (after opening up the transfer ports)
  • Decent trigger (maybe a bit more creep than a Hatsan Quatro)
  • High shot count (130 shots with 4% spread / 100 shots with 2% spread @ 37 fpe with JSB 18s)

I bought this gun understanding that there was very little info on it and I was OK with that. And with the price I paid for it, I'm not afraid to work on it! Here's an example of what I can do from the bench... full-magazine (12 shots) at 50 yards with JSB monsters:
