I have been told ploy barrels like heavy pellets, and high velocity. 800fps vs 850fps, vs 900fps. Any real difference in accuracy? Or, higher velocity, less time to target hense less wind deviation.
It depends on the barrel (poly barrels come in different varieties). The slow twist choked LW (1:32) in my custom Vet likes the MRDs from 950 and up, but it also shoots the 18gr JSBs very accurately from 980-1078 (I settled on 1035 the day that I tested them with that rifle since they were grouping best in the wind).
Like mtnghost said..depends on the poly barrel (twist rates and choked vs non choked) but my RAW's .22 non choked poly likes speeds at 900- to well over 1000fps with 18gr JSB. 18gr JSB are amazing with it's ability to shoot accurately with a wide range of speeds.
