Polishing 22cal Slug Liner Thoughts

My new 22cal slug liner seems to get fouled pretty fast, within 100 pellets/slug shots or so. Whenever I pull a tight patch through it there is a lot of leading and when I do the pull through I can feel it get rough then smoother then rougher etc throughout the liner. I want to polish the liner but I'm concerned about the 22cal bore mop not having enough "padding" to keep the metal parts from coming into contact with the liner ID. I've polished my 25 and 30cal liners but you have a little more room to work with. Curious if there is a safer way to polish it. Was thinking maybe a 177cal mop with maybe a cleaning patch or piece of paper towel wrapped around it. Those of you that have polished yours what did you use?

Here's what I have been using. I wrap a piece around a mop, and add a cleaning patch to two so it is a tight fit. I use a fiberglass cleaning rod with a swivel handle so it follows the rifling. I don't get leading and accuracy issues after polishing the bore, and found that if I shoot silicon lubed slugs and pellets it keeps a shiny bore that doesn't look like it's even been shot.

Thanks for the replies and links guys. I found a couple of nicer bore mops that had more coverage length wise and used a small 177 sized coated rod (really need a nicer one). I used a little Mothers mag wheel polish and then switched to JB's bore paste working the full length of the liner and never letting the mop exit the crown. Hopefully it'll slow down the fouling. It's also a new liner so it probably needs a lot more pellets and slugs through it.

Thanks again
