Heard about them and had no idea why they were so sought after. Talked with UA this morning and ordered a part they scavenged from another gun so I could get one of my FXs back in service. Thanks for that. The plenum, all other things being equal, is supposed to double the shot count. Also, heard the previous requirement that only a recognized distributor could make the changes. Unusual as some many of the Impact owners totally take their rifles apart and make changes and adjustments. UA indicated that policy has or was about to change allowing and Impact owner to install the Plenum themselves.

Putting on a plenum will not double your shot count. People once thought the same with putting a regulator in a pcp will double the shot count too. It does not. What it does it you are able to achieve the same fps at lower reg pressure. So instead of shooting from 250 bar to 150 bar, you are now shooting from 250 bar to 120 bar with the same fps. So you do get more shots but it won't be double.

Don't think the plenum will double your shot count but it will improve it significantly.  It will also allow one to turn the reg down a bit and still shoot with the same amount of power.  Some people have mechanical abilities that enable them to tear most anything apart and put it back together but not all.  There are a good number of parts involved in the plenum change but there are also videos available to help so many of those with any mechanical abilities at all will be able to follow them and get the job done correctly.  Still I'm sorry to say the majority of people should not even attempt it.

It also depends on how undersized your airgun’s plenum is to begin with relative to how much power you are shooting at.  There is a law of diminishing returns.  Some guns will benefit much more from increased plenum volume than others.
