please any info on swiss + arms tg-1

I went to walmart and bought a s+a tg-1 it says it shoots 1400 fps . well i plan on using it for small game hunting ..the problem im having right now is accuracy i really like it but if i cant hit what im shooting at its a waste.. Im using gamo red fire pellets that are 7.8gr.. I would like any info you can give me about anything thanks buddies

All I can do is give you my experience with a Umarex, Octane, NP2. I tried 15 different pellets and weights, and never found anything that would shoot in it. Including, the Red Fires. In addition, the stock screw kept loosening up, and even the cross bolt. No amount of fixing, repair, or adjustment has helped. I wrote it off as a mistake. I'll never own another nitro gun of any ilk.

I also have a Benjamin 397, and the Red Fires are the most accurate over all.

Return it and pick a gun with good accuracy, not everything is about fps. If you dont want to go that route then i suggest you try using different pellet types as different guns shoot better with different pellets. This can be sometimes the case with the same exact gun(very rarely). Since your using a springer, you should try learning the "artillery hold" and double checking your scopes integrity. By scope integrity, i mean if it is super secure onto the scope rail and can hold zero. If your gun is also shooting pellets at 1300-1400 fps then that is not good because the .177 pellet will destabilize mid flight due to crossing the sound barrier(supersonic). You can stop this by getting heavier pellets. The best speed to aim is below 1000 or maybe 900+ to be safe.

i hope you enjoy my tips :)!

First try different pellets. If you're at Walmart the Crosman Premier hollow points would be good to try.Domed pellets usually give the best accuracy. Check that the screws that hold the stock (two on either side of the barrel pivot and usually the one in front of the trigger) are snug, don't overdo it, just snug. Is there a scope? The ones supplied with an inexpensive gun are often poor quality junk, but before you buy another scope, put a piece of tape on the scope tube in front of one of the rings that just touches the ring. Do the same to the gun just in front of the bottom of the ring. Shoot the gun a bunch and see if a gap opens up. If so your scope is moving and you'll never sight in until you have a stronger mount. I don't know how much experience you have shooting breakbarrel springers, a little more info would help. Sometimes those cheapies will drive you nuts, especially if you don't have much experience (and often even then!)
Good Luck!

Since you have some experience with these guns, try pulling some patches through the barrel to clean out any rust preventative that may be in there. As far as breaking the sound barrier, you'll hear a crack a little like .22 rimfire just after the shot. A 10 grain pellet like the Crosman Premier Heavies or the H&N Baracuda will likely get the velocity below the sound barrier if that's what's happening. Since you got it at Walmart you always have the option of taking it back, though I don't know what time limit there is on that.

I have this gun. I got the sonic crack with the first two or three shots and had to stop shooting that day because of a ricochet. I had to tighten the screws that hold the stock to the metal parts. I got an app for my phone that works as a chronograph, and using 7.9 grain pellets was getting about 960 fps. Make sure that you get the pin to go in the hole where the scope attaches tho the barrel so it doesn't slip. Wal mart has heavier pellets but I think you need to order them.

If you can hit a nickel sized target consistently at the range you're hunting, you should be good. Resist the temptation to take shots beyond the range you can consistently hit. Practice a lot before you go after live targets, a good way to build skill is to walk around plinking at bits of bark, leaves etc. at random distances. This will help you estimate ranges and hold over or under at different distances, not mention it's fun! Remember to check your zero the day you hunt, sometimes your scope may wander or your hold is slightly different, better to find out before you take that important shot.
Good luck!

Thats a Swiss Arms TAC 1, the TG 1 is much more skeletal looking.

Using a crossman hollow point 7.9 grain. It is the heaviest pellet i can find locally. The 3x center point scope that came packaged with my crossman m4i777 suits this rifle nicely i think as the swiss arms 4x that came with it simply intensified the slightest movement too much. I am plinkin empty beer cans at 20 yards pretty consistently whitch makes me happy considering i couldnt hit the broad side of a 12" turd with the 4x scope included. The most satisfying thing though about this rifle is the straight from a movie ricochet noise and the bassically 100% disintegrated pellet on the rock behind the target. I have no means of measuring actual fps :( Think there is lots of room for improvements but my current situation simply wont allow it.
