Hi all, new to this forum but not so new to Airguns.

My name is Daz and I’m currently residing in the beautiful Cotswolds, Gloucestershire England.

I've been shooting most of my life and seriously got into Airguns in around 2000. Since that time I’ve owned lots and lots of guns and had a rediculous collection (according to the ex mrs) from Theoben, Daystate, AirArms and Weihrauch to name a few. You know how it goes – “I need one for this job and one for that job and oh, I need a duplicate set but with NV set ups because the rabbits are getting lamp shy”

Long story short (remember the ex mrs) I gave up shooting (about 8 yrs) and concentrated on getting my life in order. I’ve recently retired from work and moved out into the countryside (had enough of living in the middle of 2,000,000 people) And decided to take up the sport again from scratch. What a bloody shock to see rifles I had owned costing £500 now costing £800+ and the top of the range daystate and Rapids that we’re £795 costing £1500+. Anyway after falling into the buy everything I fancy stage I’ve trimmed my setup to 3 rifles. A tuned HW80K, Walter LGV and my little EDgun Leshiy.

im looking forward to my continued learning curve with you guys, especially as I see airgunning seems to have really taken off, especially in the States.

    Cheers Daz

Welcome!  Its great to have you here to join us!  I too started my love affair with airguns waaay back (mid 1980’s when Beeman was just taking hold in the US) and have been on and off a bit as I have traversed the various stages of life so far.  I hope you enjoy the community here at AGN.

Welcome. This is a great place. So now that you moved to the countryside can you shoot on your own property or do you go to the range?

Hi Daz – Welcome back into the fold. It is always nice to have folks from GB who remember and teach us about the fine old, wood and steel rifles that were made in England before the collapse or selloff of some of the best airguns brands ever created.

I  started FT in 1988 and quickly found out that the boys from England were the best shooters in the world. You folks would regularly spank us on our own shooting grounds. But we always enjoyed being squaded with a Brit at our National or the Worlds because of your friendliness and the information freely imparted to your cousins who were new to the game. I ended up buying rifles from Nick Jenkinson and John Whiscombe, and both remain fast friends today.

Hope you enjoy your time with this Forum and will feel free to share your knowledge and experience relating to the platforms that were born in your homeland and still make us smile today.                    Best regards – Kentucky Steve
