Playing with my Umarex Guntlet to shoot field target.

I have an Umarex Guntlet in .22, I have two air bottles for it. one the stock bottle 13ci and a 21ci. I reduced the regulator pressure in the 13ci bottle to 900 psi. to get less than 20 fpe shooting at 740-730 fps. With H-N 14.66 gr pellets. I shot from 10yrd- 50yrd to get my hold over's. I have to say this gun is shooting dead on all the way to 50yrd. With a SWFA 16x42 quad mill redical. I may not do worth a dang but I'm going to give it a go. Dave

Dave,
By all means get started. You have a very nice rifle and scope combo in the Umarex Guntlet and SWFA scope. This is a great sport and I would encourage anyone to come join the fun. I never knew a pellet rifle or pistol could be so accurate and FT could be so enjoyable. There's just nothing like the feeling you get when looking through your scope as the shot breaks, the kill zone is hit and the target falls. It's a sound and a feeling that's so addictive that it should be illegal.

Good luck in your journey and please share your first match experience with the rest of us.

Dave, the Gaunlet is indeed a more formidable rifle than most assume because of its lower cost. I shoot a RAW HM1000 for FT but I will be using my .177 Gauntlet for a backup rifle. I lent it to a new Field Target shooter earlier this year. He is a good shooter but new in airguns and FT. He beat some very good shooters with some high end guns. Styer, Thomas, etc. here is the link. It was a “Golf” FT match so lower scores are better. I was unable to attend but can’t wait to try the Golf version next time.

I’m shooting JSB 10.3 with it and it’s very accurate. The Gauntlet triggers usually need some work to get a consistent break but the gun shoots great.

Best,
