pistol fun

Weather here has been going south so the last days of setting on the 75 and 100 yard range are slowing down. That leaves the 10m range in my heated shop. Have a couple of Crosman 22XX a P-17 and a Tempest to play with. On Saturdays a couple of friends drop over and we always end up shooting a relay to determine who the lucky sponsor of lunch is going to be. These little pistols have been fun to shoot and shooting inside with the heat and tunes on is a plus. Decided to treat myself to a new PCP pistol so the shopping has been ongoing for the last couple of weeks. Really wanted to step up and get a high end target gun like the FWB short, but the cost causes me pause and there are so many choices that there is no way that is going to happen unless I can get with someone knowledgable and physically get my hands on them. In my shopping ran across the Airmax PCP target pistol that Mrodair is selling for 189.00 freight included. That's just inexpensive for a PCP pistol so decided to take a chance and ordered one. This little pistol is fantastic for the dollars. Easy to load, shoot, handle and the accuracy is just amazing. Put a cheap red dot on it and started trying different pellets. As it came out of the box it loves the milbro select and RWS meisterkugeln pellets. For some reason it hates the JSB's. Go figure. The little pistol is the most easily adjustable to tune I have seen. Out of the box it comes shooting damned hot. Looking forward to taking an afternoon slowing it down, tuning and extending the shot count. In my opinion, this is a quality little PCP pistol and a bargain for the cost. The one I have is .177 but for the price a .22 will be along shortly. This is going to save me having to buy lunch until the guys catch on. Sylvan
