Pick your big bore and why?

Yup same here .

I had the 357 carbine but it just didn't have the umph at 100yards that I wanted.

145 grain bullet 10" drop at 100 yards. Dead on at 50yards though. I sent it back.

The 457 CF carbine looks good but not a lot of reviews online.

The 457 CF and SS look great but I am still not sure. I don't need the shroud on the SS. I would rather get DFL. Is there a difference in accuracy between the original Texan 457 and the CF version.

I currently own 4 Texans, none have the CF tank and only 2 have the TX2 valve in them.

.257 Texan reg running TT shroud. 3000 psi tank, great accuracy

.457 Texan reg that’s had internals polished and tank valve worked on. 3600 psi tank great accuracy

.457 Texan carbine, TX2 valve, 3000 psi tank ( new just got it ) Give me a few weeks on the accuracy.

.457 Texan LSS, TX2 valve, 3000 psi tank ( currently looking for new home ) Decent accuracy but to long for what I wanted it for.

i did own:

.457 Texan SS, original valve, 3000psi tank. Great accuracy ( Should have never sold it!!! )

The .257 is my go to gun because of its accuracy. ( Catalina goat at 95yds, 40-125# pigs, coons )

The .457 regular is my daytime hunting gun for deer and pigs. I sight in for 100yds but have shot out to 200yds with decent accuracy.

The SS and LSS was night time pig guns set up with night vision. The SS was great, LSS so so on accuracy ( still trying to find the right ammo )

Carbine will be my new nighttime gun when the DonnyFl gets here. It will be set up for 75yds or less.

.457 Texan SS, original valve, 3000psi tank. Great accuracy ( Should have never sold it!!! )

What round works the best for the SS and the regular Texan?

Do you think the accuracy improves on the SS with the CF TX2?

What yardage did you sight in the Texan and the SS?

SS I used 290 gr NSA and kept it sighted in at 75 yds. It was my night vision set up for pigs and yotes.

Reg Texan used 350 gr NSA and was sighted in at 100 yds and could be taken out to 200 yds with mil dots.

Both guns ran the 3000 psi tanks and TX1 valve. The regular has had the valve worked on.

I have a condor and airforce has a customer for life with me. They check every box for customer service and power with efficiency. I will definitely own a Texan one day no doubt about it. I just think I'll own a recluse or dragon claw. I don't care about power either in fact if I could tune a 357 for 500 fps and get 15 shots for small game and turn up the power wheel and shoot arrows for deer hunting I'd be all set. No need for a bullet when an arrow works tons better. Not as flat shooting as a Texan but way bigger wound channel etc... Also anyone ever shoot a giant 357 slug super slow like 350 to 450 fps at a squirrel or rabbit? They fly back like you hit a home run out of Yankee stadium. Edgun leshey Channel has several videos of this. Sometimes the bullet bounces of thier skulls and they do flips and stuff. No haters please this is actually very ethical. They die instantly. Maybe even faster than a pass through the head with a 177 or 22. Anyway its super cool.

I have had both of the Texans with the TX2 Valve, The Texan 45 long suppressed and I have the Texan 45 Carbon Fiber Tank

I can tell you that the TX2 Valve does not stand out until you put the CF tank and 3500 psi behind it, in fact I did not like the TX2 valve on the 3000 psi bottle

Understand that I have had Texans for a good while now, In fact I had one of their earliest production models with a serial number down in the 00035, A few weeks ago I got the .45 with CF Long and was blown away at the increased power and longer power curve, I really did not expect 500 psi making that much difference. This gun really shines when you start throwing heavier slugs down range but be far warned mind your eye relief because she does produce a fair amount of push also and if you are used to sucking up on the scope your going to get bit.

My shot string from 3600 down

890, 900, 920, 900, 870

3 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards ( this was with a free floating backend and bipod) I could have gotten better if I had put it on a true bench
