Does anyone know if the standard stock on a P-Rod can support mounting Picitinny rails on it?  I saw this rail set on Amazon and wondered if they could be mounted on my P-Rod so that I could put a bipod on it.

Did you just drill into the stock and bolt it on?  How did you find the centerline of the stock?  I haven’t taken the stock off yet, but I’m thinking it should be pretty simple mod to do.  I wonder why more people don’t seem to do this?  What am I missing?

I used the little rail accessory that was included with my bipod.

I just used two small screws with nuts to attach it to the stock.   Just simple hardware found at Home Depot.

Does work. I did it a few days ago for the same purpose. There’s a mold “seam” on the forestock that I used as a centerline. Drilled and used two short but chubby screws to fasten a little piece of picatinny rail. So far so good.

Can make a new forearm? I made one out of some 6061 & bedliner. Mounted a 1913/G36 set like you pictured.

OK, I contacted R Arms Innovations and they sent me some rails to try to do this.  I was able to make it work, but I had to trim one of the rails to fit on the bottom.  I also had to go to the hardware store to get some longer screws and nuts.  The end result though is that, yes, you can put picitinny rails on the p-rod stock with some very minor modifications.

    What I started with:

The bottom rail was too long.  I trimmed it with a hacksaw and then filed it smooth at the end and colored it with a Sharpie.

Here is the inside of the stock:

This is where I drilled holes and mounted the side rails:

After the bottom rail was cut down it was almost exactly the same length as the side rails.

I bought a UTG bi-pod and it mounts nicely on the bottom rail:

I think it came out looking pretty cool

Thanks.  I’m pretty happy with it. I’m thinking about doing the same thing to my .25 Marauder now…

I have one of these little guys on my P-rod. Nice, light and cheap. It’s composite, but seems really strong.
