Pelletgage- Dead Eye review

All the ones I measured for size were either 13.4 or 13.5.

Weight is a different story. Varies from tin to tin, but a lot of 13.4 and 13.5 gr, some 13.6 gr. A few will be heavier, and many will be lighter than 13.4. I practice off- hand with those.

Here's the two cards I shot at 35 and 45 yds. Both off sticks. Wind was light. The circled numbers is the group size in millimeters.

Out of the 400 count tin, the majority of my pellets were in the 4.54 head size with 4.53 and 4.55 being on the outer fringes for a .01 mm plus or minus which I thought was pretty tight tolerence?

My weights ranged from 13.2 grs to 13.6 grs with the majority being 13.4 grs giving a .2 grain plus or minus tolerence which again I thought was pretty tight?

Mine certainly liked the 4.54 head size but seemed to like the 4.53 head size as well and worked perfect with a 4.53 pellet sizer since the majority of the pellets were 4.54 to begin with.

Interesting, CampFussell,

Very nice groups. Weird flyers. My Marauder will sometimes pop one on the first shot after airing up. Looks like you have a bad 4th shot on that #5 group.

Way back when I worked at GE, a trainer was working with me, and I argued a point. He said "Oh, you are a TB". I guess I found out then, I was a technical b-----d.

So, when I say "nominal", I mean what the manufacturer names the product. I see evidence that the JSB Exact Monster Diabolo 13.4 grain and the Exact Monster Diabolo Redesigned are accurate pellets. Deadeye is using the redesigned, and winning matches with some great competition.

But, it looks to me that the nominal dimension (as I deem it) has got to be 4.52 mm, see below. That said, measurements indicate they can be a bit larger. And, JSB or Predator International don't seem to do a lot of labelling anymore. So, I take it that the mean diameter you measured was 4.54 mm. Now, to me, JSB is out of tolerance, as I say they ought to be delivering 4.52 (with a reasonable tolerance) as they claim on the website. But then, Pelletgage gets a purpose, I reckon. ;-)

Jimmy have you tried shooting it with the weighed and sorted 13.4s to test accuracy with your Thomas without the shroud?

It is supposed to typically shoot LIGHTS OUT with original Monsters straight out of the tin unweighed and unsorted.

PHePlerNC and Pelletgage when using a Marauder it may be beneficial to add a thin faucet washer to snug the endcap of the

shroud more or replace the last baffle with a light spring. Also good to check the baffles to see there are no clipping by spray painting the

holes with white paint and drill whichever one that is clipping and make a note of what position each baffle was set and reinstall.

Also be sure the O-rings that hold the shroud in place are not worn or cracked and replace them if necessary.

That was actually shot a year or two ago, without the shroud. I actually think I have less flyers now that I have the shroud mounted on her?

Just don't have the patience to weigh and sort anymore.

I've shot a couple of 250 BR cards without weighing and sorting and shot these 130 shots in a row with 5 shots in each group with no flyers and this was with the shroud on. Shot's started to drop after the 115th shots and were right back on track after the fill.
