Pellet tin alternatives?

In addition to the leather coin pouches that I use, I also bought some of these ear bud cases, which would work quite well and have greater protection against external pressure:

And also, this hard plastic pill carry case:

35mm Film Canisters, anyone?

Or, how about pocket sized aluminum pill canisters?

Kind of endless options out there - the choice just depends on your particular needs.

Hardshell boxes don't protect the pellets from getting damaged, Leather pouch does provide soft cushioning for soft skirts, again the pellets damage themselves by hitting against each other. Just an observation.

Indeed, regardless of the container... soft pouch or hardshell, if the pack of pellets gets jostled around violently enough, the pellets can and will deform each other. Cannibals, they are! ;-)

I have been using these for 30 years.

Holds around 46 .25 Cal.

Can I have the prize for dumbest pellet holder? Since I weigh pellets and often separate by weight, I bought a couple large 7 day pill organizers from Wally World. About $2 on the shelf if I remember correctly. 7 bays, so 7 weights of pellets for the range. I can label and have a variety all at my fingertips. Won't work for hunting well, but for the range, works great.

The one from wally world has sloped side to make getting pills out easier, works for pellets too.

That is so funny... The 7 day pill holders are what I was using too. After weighing a couple tins of pellets and sorting them, the pill holders just don't have enough room though. I started this thread a long time ago looking for an alternative. I don't think it's a dumb idea at all, I just needed more room or I'd still be using it too. I bought some leather pouches for the pellet weights I use most often and pack around in the field, the rest are stored in a Flambeau adjustable box in my shooting bag. Merry Christmas. Stoti

Been using them for years too. My Techstar gets 28 shots per fill so I put 25 pellets in each and know exactly when it's time to refill. I put 20 in each for the Leshiy.

Easier to "count" shots this way with a single shot.
