Pellet power

If it helps give you some kind of idea about fps on yours, my 95 .22 is stock from the box, I'm 525 feet above sea level (yeah I googled it, yes elevation plays some in fps)) and with H&N FTT's and my chrony give or take a foot and a half in front of the muzzle, average 690 fps for about 15.5 fpe.

I haven't gotten brave enough to set that chrony down range in front of my target back board to see what fps at the target is.

I have Chairgun, several versions actually. Of course that also requires me remembering which file I saw the Chairgun .zip files in. I also have an aversion to shooting my chrony and have managed not to for the 5 years I've owned it and figure that foot and a half in front of my muzzle and the hood rods very well marked for where I need to aim should help make sure I never do :)

I used an old metal wheel barrel for a backstop at 25 yards and was really surprised that the H&N FTT 14.66 gr pellets were as flat as a dime after impacting the backstop. This is from a stock HW95L .22. I don't have a chrono but SWAG the fps as somewhere between 575/605 FPS on my rifle which has less than 2k shots.

I have an old frying pan hanging on a fence 50yards from where I shoot. My stock HW95 .22 does not shoot through it but those 15.89gr JSBs put one heck of a dent in it. I get similar results with other brands of pellets as well. I've found some of the pellets on the ground in front of the target and even at 50 yards they flatten out pretty good.

The HW95 is no magnum but it hits a lot harder than you think it would given the published velocities.
