Pellet pic for when the weather is too bad to shoot.

Guys, I had posted a bunch of these photos on another member's thread and I got so many kind comments I thought I would just do a post of them on their own. I took these photos many years ago when the addiction first got it's hold on me. It was during a spell of bad weather and I got bored and started photographing pellets and pellet combinations with coins and things to compare them by. Looking back to 2013, I guess the addiction really had it's hold on me! Enjoy

Thanks James, yep I still have that Lincoln and the .25 pellet is still in the penny.

I can't believe the penny didn't shatter into pieces like most of the others? I had it taped to a rubber backing when I shot it. The Marauder was only shooting .25's in the 37 fpe range back then, as it was shooting the 25 grain a little over 800 fps.

And a heads up to others out there reading this. Show us your pictures of pellets and coins or whatever you have that's different and interesting like this! I sure have enjoyed the comments!

Can the weather ever be to bad to shoot?

I have fished in below freezing weather with sleet …. Well Okay I drew the line when it started lightning, I might be a redneck but I will let old Benji have the fun with the kite and key

Hunted with ice on the ground and snow falling, and or it raining and temps down in 35 deg , For some reason my wife had no mercy on me when i spent the next week sick with the flue sheesh

Camped in a snow storm ... Me and my doctor keeps going round and round about that extra layer of fat HA, it works for the seals ... he just dont get it

Rock hounded in the yellowstone river for Montana Moss Agate Yikes thats a cold bath... Made my rocks go look for a deeper place to hide! Rock Hounded in New Mex for Thunder Eggs in 105 deg... Darn near deep fried my egg

Well Okay maybe your right not some of my best memories after all

Willie, I know, I'm afflicted. LOL.....not only do I not like being out in extreme weather conditions, I hate to take my rifles out when it's so hot and humid the scope, barrel and bottle start to sweat over. Definitely not gonna have them out in the rain.

If I lived in a drier climate I wouldn't worry about the heat and cold as bad?

Oh, and another thing that keeps me from shooting sometimes is mosquitoes! LOL I've become a wuss in my old age!

On a good note, I just discovered all the fun I can have with .30 caliber this summer, so I need to take some comparison photos with .30 cal pellets in the mix. Something to look forward to and I'll edit it in the original post when I get around to doing it!

Peace and Campfire Grease

Just took some photos with .30 cal included this time. My cell phone and my other camera just can't hang with the old Sony on close ups?

All JSB pellets. (.177 is 13.43 gr).........(.22 is 18.1 gr).......(.25 is 25.39 gr)........(.30 is 44.75 gr)

All pellets are sitting on dimes this time. I forgot how hard it was to get those pellets stacked on the coins. Had to use tweezers.

First 3 photo's with my cell phone and the next three with Cannon with flash

your picture of the pellets lined up and on top each other gave me an idea. i have a small wood lathe in my shop. i may turn some large wood pellets up and use them as chess pieces.

here is one from some years ago. i was shooting raw eggs off golf tees with my 2260. this egg had fallen off the tee and was hit as the CO2 cartridge was at it's end. THIS IS A RAW EGG! the pellet broke through the shell, but didn't have enough energy to puncture the membrane.

here is one from some years ago. i was shooting raw eggs off gold tees with my 2260. this egg had fallen off the tee and was hit ass the CO2 cartridge was at it's end. THIS IS A RAW EGG! the pellet broke through the shell, but didn't have energy to puncture the membrane.

Wow, awesome photo. It looks like the pellet is just inside the egg shell? What are the odds of that ever happening again. Perfectly centered shot too! Thanks for sharing.
