..............PELLET or SLUG or BOTH for .25 Cal

What might you fellows be using to achieve Z Best accuracy...in .25 Cal out of FX 500mm or 600mm barrel?

& is this with the STX liner for both pellets & slugs?.....or without the liner

Additionally are the Slugs NSA or FX and what weight grn & the pellets used, in .25 weight and grain at 50yds to 100 yards..All for best group accuracy!



I am Soooooo very highly confused at this point.....HELP!

Are you finding that the stability of the pellet is better in short distance. What about cross wind and down range mass / ability to carry more energy. I too in .22 cal, found 18's very accurate...However at distance had little IMPACT / Knock down power.

This is why I moved up to the larger .25 However still chasing Z Best accuracy via pellet or slug....Stock or w/ liner

I get dime size groups at 50 yards with NSA 33.5 slugs. The 27.XX H&N gets nice groups at that range as well.

Powder, air, or what ever, every barrel is an entity of it's own. We all can give you what works for us, but it may not work for you. They should all be close, but you know what you want out of it.

I don't shoot 100 yards with small caliber air rifles. I don't shoot much past 100 with my 45. Plenty claim to do so here and other places, and they probably do. It still isn't the tool I would use for most purposes, but I haven't put the time in for longer ranges, and need another glass to do that.

So for a starting point and gett'n more mass go with 34 gr I know , I know All barrels are different....however in a stock / no liner go 34gr and ....



** at what FPS at mussel / chrono to start with + or -



Another guy " LostinTejas.......says NSA slugs (heard good stuff on these) 33.5 slugs...**** HOWEVER****SADLY ---- did Not say stock barrel OR what liner....as I asked for this info to accompany type of pellet or slug? originally but thanks.

I'm not complicated enough to use a liner. Stock Avenger, 825 fps with the NSA. The H&N, I haven't put over the chrony yet. Just got it in. still messing with the slugs, since they are the primary, for now anyway. @50 yards, the pellets are 1.75 inches high, but group similarly.
