PCP regrets or dissapointments

Biggest disappointment ......not having at least a 50 yd indoor shooting range. Oh, and not having the money to try more PCP's than I've already tried;-)

Can't say I have any regrets, it was all a learning experience. I'll agree with Centercut that the R5M Eddy was a let down. For me it was the rough cocking and never did like the feel of the trigger either.

And I have to agree with Gerry on the Royale 500 & Boss. Can't believe I waited this long to try a .30 cal! The Boss is an awesome long distance gun.

Best PCP for the money I've ever bought was a used 2007 model .177 FX Logun Solo for $500. Will shoot groups right there with my Thomas if I do my part. Gun has no regulator and no air guage. Doesn't get any simpler than that. Just fill to 2600 psi, shoot down to 1700 psi for 35 shots at the top of the curve.

Regret: My pcp rifles are so single hole accurate I find them to sometimes get boring (lol), especially in the cold winter months when I limited to my indoor range much more. I find myself shooting my springers much more, just to make it at least a little more challenging.

I truly enjoy them all and enjoy the great people I have become associated through this sport. No real regrets.

That's why I picked up pcp pistols 😂 I'm on #3 now. Still only have 1 pcp rifle. Well, technically I have 2 Crowns, but I'm selling one once I get the stock finished right.

My regrets. Ive spend probably over 10,000 on pcp..from the guns to tanks to compressor to fitting to filters to ammo to scopes to mounts to range finger to night vision to mods etc. I could of gotten a girlfriend/wife. Now am lonely man with his PCP airguns in mother's basement.

A girlfriend or wife would cost way more than that in the long run... but they are worth it if you find the right girl.

Biggest regret was learning about PCP guns, period, as it pulled me away from my passion of reloading centerfire cartridges for accuracy. I’ve spent so much $$ on tooling for a 30-06, 22-250, 7mm-08, and a 338 Lapua. Tools to disassemble these firearms, dies, concentricity tools, headspace, every case prep tool pretty much made, digital scales, automatic powder measuring tools, and not to mention lbs of powder, boxes of primers, and brass cases in the 100’s, for each of these cartridges.

This pcp hobby truly isn’t buy ”a” pcp gun and a hand pump and your good to go, and won’t need anything else. No way. What pulls you in is the accuracy, the quietness of the shot, and the convenience to shoot anywhere, day or night. With the organization of benchrest competitions it just lures you in even more. What does it take to win? Not a budget pcp and a hand pump. That’s where the dark side comes in, when you start the compressor and tank purchases, which then leads to higher end guns. All my opinions, of course.

Gonna end this with yes, I’m having a blast with this pcp hobby. Just hate seeing my cartridge guns and all I’ve invested towards them collecting dust. I’m hoping my son does something with them all one day.

The biggest regret I have is having bought a Taipan Veteran from one a pretty unscrupelous individual.

My other regret was buying an AV Booster.

My first PCP was a Brocock Compatto. Overall very accurate gun, not perfect, but it was my first one and got me into the game, so no regrets there.

My second was my Kalibrgun Carbine Mini, it has met and surpassed all my needs. Only issue with the gun ever has been the safety was very poorly executed. I was able to knock down 4 steel targets at 100 yards with 5 shots (one miss), the smallest was just under 1.25" on my first time trying that. Not bad for a novice, that gun is way better than me.

I own a .25 Cal Kalibrgun with a Power tune, I think I regret buying it. Was expensive, and I don't use it. Way too powerful for my needs, but I still own it, so one never knows.

Then there are the regrets of the ones that got away. I probably should have purchased a .177 RAW that became available through the Classifieds, and probably one or two more I can't even remember, so no use even mentioning it (Opps....Too Late)

Bigragu, I'm in the same boat as you! I haven't touched my reloading equipment in so, so long! I've got so much powder, boxes of Lapua brass and Berger/Hornady bullets for my PRS gun that I sold, so that stuff is just sitting unused. I miss it too but because of insurance issues at my shooting range, my boys can't even step on the property with me until they're 18 years old. They're only 9 and 12 years old! It's the only good PRS and 1000yd range anywhere near me. On the bright side, I sold my custom LH PRS gun and scope for a lot of money which gave me quite a bit of cash to spend on new high end air guns and equipment. It's sad the powder burners are sitting but we shoot our air guns so much more often, almost every day because we can shoot on our property and ranch only five minutes away. Have a good one!
