PCP pistol recomendations?

I have it .22 I like it....I like my Crosman 1700 and 1720 more,they cost a bit more though...I got a refurb. Bandit,$165..the grip is big even for my big hands....I am glad I got the Bandit....there are a couple of single shot PCP at close to the same price as the Bandit...people love them ,I think SP700 800 ...Check those out to...a lot of talk about them in the pistol section....

What are you going to be using any for? As in, do you expect to compete with The Bandit? I don’t think you are but there’s a big difference between a plinking pistol for fun, & a more powerful hunting pistol. Is there a limit you’ve set that you can’t currently surpass? A wiseman recently told me something most have heard before. Buy once, cry once. There’s also the motto of 1st, get it in your hands and then upgrade as you can afford. Many an anemic old Crosman have won countless awards in competition after some TLC from the right persons. 
I fully understand price point appeal. I myself have considered your 1st option for plain fun/plinking/English Sparrows or Starlings.

Being that I owned 3 Quackenbush pistols, one capable of almost anything with a well placed shot at 20 yards, I can say there’s a big difference. So, a good answer requires a little more info on your intended use. 
If for my 2nd paragraph described uses, The Bandit is a great option for most all small game. 
I’m much more a rifle person so I sold the pistols I had. Looking back I could have boxed & put away. Things have changed. I don’t have to hand pump & I could now afford to have carbine stocks made for them. But, I don’t truly “hunt” because of time and this family doesn’t appreciate wild game like I do.

There’s nowhere near as many pistols as rifles in the airgun world being made. The great ones that are start at the $800 on up range. I myself like The Ataman, HW, and love the design and improved aspects of the 2nd gen Edgun that just came out. 


Let us know what your main desired use would be. Distance, power, shot count, single shot or muti, etc.

I would recommend the PP750 over the Bandit. Had a Bandit, and a Chaser, and spent days chasing around the POI. The PP750 has been spot on since I got it and I would recommend it if you can bump the budget up to $250. 

The other question will be the one of filling up the PCP guns - do you have a plan?

It’s a lot of money but the HW44 is a superb pistol. I liked my .177 so much that I got a .22 in the classifieds. Here’s some groups shot at 40 yards. Using a scope and bags for stability. Just incredible pistols and great trigger too.

Pp700 for simplicity. 

You can also convert a 2240 quite cheaply to pcp if done right. (you'll need to ask the gurus)

Pp750 has more bang for buck than pretty much anything. 

The bandit is great. But the grip is too big. I cut mine down to fit and refinished. Love it. 

You can get a pp800, essentially a bandit, with a synthetic grip, but that grip is too small for my hands (medium)

I own a bandit and a pp800 and love both. But the 2240 conversion, pp700 or Pp750 are all better choices. Only caveat being my pp800 is a 25 caliber. 25s just aren't hardly made or available from any manufacturer 

You probably won't find a used HW44 under $650 unless it's really banged up.

Will then think about getting Crosman 1720....very accurate and well known....it is single shot though....

Krale had then in stock recently so I am sure they’ll be getting another stock. They were out of stock when I first looked and just out my name in the email me when in stock list. When you get the email just act quickly ordering. 

Do you know what options are out there for semi automatic pcp pistols besides AEA's SS, Styer' LP50 HP or Hatsans pistol? Thanks. 

I won't recommend $1000 pistols for you, as I see that's out of your budget. In regards to the Bandit, I would pass. If you get a good one, yay, but if you don't then you'll be chasing the POI all over the place. I'd recommend looking at the PP750 by Artemis - I have been beyond pleased with mine. For $250 it is easily the PCP pistol of 2020.

Congrats on the purchase. I think you will be very pleased. There’s a few threads worth reading about the PP750 if you haven’t already. Some tips about shimming the trigger and sear, also adjusting the trigger for a lighter pull. 

I would like to have a lighter trigger, where did you see that?

That whole thread is worth a read through.

To get a lighter trigger I would start with the front trigger set screw and adjust the sear to where you are happy, then adjust the rear screw (fyi - I replaced mine with a longer one as there was only one thread of engagement when I had it set the way I liked) to set the end of the first stage. I also used the VC-3 Threadmate on the two set screws as I had them start to back out on me while shooting. I would say my trigger is somewhere in the 8oz range right now but I don't have anything to measure it with.

Check those set screws - sounds like the way the trigger felt to me when they had both backed out.
