PCP Obsession or addiction?

I don't know what it is I can't put my finger on it but I can't stop thinking about the airgun world and buying my next gun I have purchased two in the last 3 months Big Bore .357 and have a list of at least 10 guns that I've done the research and need to choose from and when I'm not thinking about that I'm thinking about signing up for a benchrest competition which I absolutely need help finding one for beginners at this point I don't know if it's possible but I'm thinking of just signing up for the next extreme benchrest competition any pointers would be appreciated anyway what's your opinion are you addicted or obsessed

An addiction is a type of obsession so rest assured, you're probably both, like the rest of us here.

The thing I would like to stop is the addiction to shopping for air guns instead of just shooting them.

Common sense would state that once you have a few nice air guns an maybe a few caliber choices, then you wouldn't need to visit an airgun store for a while (except for pellets n stuff) and yet.... I found myself looking and tempted by the new Kral Puncher with the silver barrel at PA this morning. I already have a nice selection of far more expensive air guns and too many for me to use what I have. I had to have that "what the hell are you doing!" talk with myself.... again....

The only thing that stops it.... for a while.... is buying that gun you really want that is probably too expensive for the rationale mind.

We need a support group!

Lately I've been trying to focus my shopping on upgrading my existing set-up instead of adding more guns I'll never use. That means upgrading things like the glass, the stocks, rests etc so I can get the most out of my accurate guns instead of starting from scratch again with new ones.

I want to try and be smart by hanging on to the extra accurate ones instead flipping them just "to try something new". There is never a guarantee that a new gun will have the same accuracy.

Something obvious occurred to be a while ago. Most PCP guns look the same when you take them out of the stock. Just a little box with two tubes or one tube and a bottle. All it takes to give you a completely different look and feel is a new dress. Look at how Ataman markets dozens of models but only makes that one M2 air gun.

Also, all the good ones use the same 2 or 3 barrel brands so there isn't much to be gained by flip flopping between them. That's what I tell myself anyway. Why can't I listen to my own advice though???

"fz1yamaha"I Think I'd try a support group -if they didnt tell me to quit playing with airguns,Thought this was a support group ,everybody here helps support my habit, more air guns and the knowledge to work on them ,so I dont have to send them back to the place I got them from EVER
That's a good point. We don't really want anyone to make us stop. It's just to make us feel better about it. Being crazy and obsessive always seems better if everyone else is crazy too.
