So I have got an Ataman M2, about 2 1/2 years old with around a thousand rounds or so down the tube. I went out and shot it last weekend, with temps here in Maine being around 35 or so degrees. I had it on a full charge, shot 20 rounds and noticed the pressure was right at the 200 bar, figured maybe the cold weather would have caused the air to be used up quicker(?), got home and filled it up to 300 BAR (4350 psi), went to go to the range today and noticed it used up 100 BAR just from sitting in safe. I have never had this problem before, filled it up again today, left for about 6 hours, came back to check, and lost another 100 BAR. Do any of you guys have any idea as to what would cause this issue? I could see if the gun was 5, 10, or 15 years old, but come on, after two and a half years? The gun has always been well taken care of, any information would be appreciated, and do any of you guys have any idea as to what a repair job on something like this would cost? Try putting a condom (clean one of course!) Or balloon over the fill tube and another over the end of the barrel. Use rubber bands see which one blows up. If it's the air tube filler then minor fix and if it's the barrel condom or balloon then it's your valve seat bigger job but can be done on your own.
You are filling to over 4000psi. I am not surprised it eventually leaked IMHO.

Thanks for the response, I will try your idea. I am NOT too familiar with airgun, never done work on them, how difficult is it to do the fix you are talking about? Also, according to Ataman, the gun takes 4351 psi, I always fill to 4300, really no need to go above that imho

SURE the gun takes 4300psi as per manufacturer true. At least till the warranty expires.
You can store it at lower pressure and only fill right before shooting to have less stress on the seals too.
I really think its nuts to store guns past 4000psi (even past 3000psi) IMHO if a long leak free life is expected no matter what max fill pressure the guns are rated for.p Plus I really believe that it stresses out regulators on general past 3000psi.

As soon as you report back which balloon or condom filled with air then further instruction can be provided.

Thank you very much for your advice, I will no longer keep that much air in it until I am ready to use it, as far as the balloon test goes, the balloon on barrel is slowly showing inflation, I will get back to you tomorrow, again, thank you

You want to see how low it leaks till it stabilizes and stops at what pressure whether or not it will all leak all the way down to zero or what pressure it stops then stays at.

So, the air is escaping through the barrel, nothing out the fill port. So far the meter on fill tube has stayed at 180 as of now. Should I wait until later tonite or this week and see how much more air I lose, or do you have a good idea as to the fix? The balloon has air in it but not that much. Let me know what my next step should be, and again, thank you.

You probably have some dust or debris affecting your valve seat. I would only fill it when you are ready to shoot and shoot it a lot when you do. This might help to self fix which works in some instances. Just picture that lowest pressure you got after sitting keep it no more than that when stored.

Fill your Ataman to 250 bar and be happy.
Filling them to the full 300 bar will result in velocity fluctuations until the air cylinder gets down to 250 bar, so why waste air?

I will try that, shooter he down to 100 bar, take her up to 250 bar and keep shooting, you think that might bring her out of it, I will definitely give it a shot, will let you know how I make, thank you.

So today I went out and shot it, as soon as I pulled the trigger, air just kept coming out, what would that be an indication of? Valve not seating? Emptied gun down to nothing.
