PCP for target

Alot depends on your budget but 2 of my favorites that i own that are on the higher end of the market price range is my RAW TM1000 and my Steyr LG110 hunter,,,,both of these guns are in .177 as i also use them as Field Target rifles.

Big Mike, What is the budget? Does that include the air tanks / pump to refill or is do you already have all that and just want the gun? Lots of good paper punchers for 50 and 75 yards out there. Even a well tuned Marauder can do 1.5 inch groups at 50 or 75 yards, so what kind of accuracy are you looking for as well? So much fun to buy a new gun, more fun to shoot said new gun!

Generally larger calibers buck wind better .25cal .30cal there are to many good rifles to chose from. I used the stats from (Extreme Bench Rest) to decide as the best shooters usually know what guns to shoot. Depending on your budget Id recommend looking up the last couple yrs 2015,16 and 17 EBR results of what the top shooters use. Good luck to you and welcome to the addiction.

Well for a thousand dollars you certainly get a very nice pcp.I think first thing you need to consider is what style of rifle are you looking for,,,traditional longer rifle or a bullpup or semi bullpup design. Then i would consider which caliber,,,177 of course is going to be the cheapest to shoot with a huge pellet selection. As you go up in caliber .22,,,.25,,,.30 your pellet selection decreases and the cost goes up.For backyard shooting I'm fine with shooting .177 but the wind definitely effects these lighter pellets the most.

I shot these 10 shot groups yesterday at 25 yards with my .177 Marauder. Sustained winds at the time 29mph with occasional gusts over 40 mph. It is a custom shop, factory regulated, factory installed Lothar Walther barrel.
Shot with unsorted Crosman 10.5 domed heavies straight from the box at just under 800fps/117 consistent shots per fill at this tune and ending at 1450 psi. Scope is a garbage UTG 4-14. I am very pleased with this rifle after sending back the streamline I was worried. 750 bucks with a lifetime warranty. The park mountain is something I had engraved in memory of my dad

I shoot BR with a TM1000 both at 25 and 50M. Mine has a polygonal barrel and shoots best with the redesigned JSB 13.44 gr pellets. I use a gun with the titanium tube tank and install a Sinclair adapter plate in the accessory rail which is held by the front rest. This will compete with any rifle. Groups that I see here are great, but try that with an official 25M target. If you shoot one of the 25 bulls and get a 7 or an 8, you will probably not win the match.

"Bench shooting" ( what I do a lot of ) or "Bench Rest"? Which I would shoot but could never hope to show, place or win.

Under $1,000 you very best bet is a proven used shooter.
I have a lowly Gauntlet .177 that will hold inside a Dime all day at 50 - wont win a BR match but cant miss a Dime-.
A Marauder with a regulator & LW barrel ( offered in the crosman custom shop) would be a solid choice.

If you can live with a single shot BUY used! Match winning rifles with QC higher than almost all the modern pre-charged are selling for scrap prices.
