PCP COMPRESSORS

I have an Omega Supercharger that I had to send back in that it wouldn’t work out of the box. It was returned to me but I haven’t been able to try it out. I also have the Nomad 2 which I have not been able to try out.

Medical problems improved upon will allow me the time and inclination to work with these compressors. I being a person having the need to buy new equipment am interested in the Omega Trail Charger but it has so many bad reviews I want to wait and see if the manufacturer will deal with Noted defects and needed upgrades. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INPUT AS TO ANYONES EXPERIENCE WITH THE OMEGA TRAIL CHARGER. email: [email protected]

i’m a retired Sheriffs Department Firearms Instructor and having quite a few firearms but no place to shoot became interested in PCP rifles that allow me to shoot on my property. i have a FX Impact X, a Daystate Pulsar HP, Daystate Wolverine 2, a FX Boss, a Sumatra 2500. I also have a Ataman AP16. All these guns have all the accessories available. I’m out of control as to acquiring my man toys and my interest in PCP Airguns is indeed amounted to a interesting and high cost adventure.

Pooterjoe, thank you for your service to your community. I know it isn’t the response to your question, as I have no experience with the omega unit, but I have been researching the best , cost effective way to refill a large tank somewhat reliably and my conclusion is to bite the bullet, this hobby is very similar to firearms in the way that there is a sweet point as far as equipment and return on expectations. I would recommend contacting airtanksforless and buy a Alkin compressor made in Turkey. It isn’t as nice as the Bauer units, but some people don’t need a Nightforce or Leupold custom shop optic when the Vortex unit may work well for a fraction of the cost. This hobby is rough because many of us cannot hold or preview rifles, pistols or compressors or ammo, many of us are reliant on forums and internet stores to buy equipment. I thought about buying from Alkin directly, but after hearing about problems with frieight shippers damaging compressors, I would rather pay the extra couple hundred and buy from Joe Brancato at ATFS and ensure it was packed and warrantied from a airgun guy. Good luck and I hope the good people here on agn can chime in with good advice and personal experiences.

I was interested in the New Omega Trail Charger until I noted numerous reviews that point out the compressor to have problems. I will not purchase another compressor unless it is warrantied for at least two years. A one year guarantee just doesn't cut it. Hopefully this Omega Trail Charger will be upgraded and defects are corrected and there will be more positive reviews. I wonder why they don't have the 110 built in rather than have the seperate inverter. I have experienced problems with my Omega Supercharger and Air Venturi Nomad and I for one would like to see these compressors not break down with little run time. I will be making contact with Joe Brancoto to see what he offers.

I'm still waiting for my County Fire Station to upgrade their in house compressor so they can better deal with their tanks. I have been waiting for them to get their system upgraded for over a year. Being a retired County Law Enforcement officer and having worked with the Fire Department for so many years they are willing to fill my tank. Hopefully it will happen. My intent is to get my Omega tank filled to 4500psi and when dropping down to 3000psi utilize the Supercharger to Top it 4200psi. I have attempted to have my 74cf Omega carbon fiber tank filled at seven mainland Fire Departments and they all won't fill my tank. The local mainland Scuba shops will only fill my tank to 3200psi.

I am sorry to say that there is no cheap solution for air. You read about all the disasters folks have on this site alone with the cheap Chinese specials. If you're serious about this hobby, you need your own air source. Bite the bullet and get a Bauer, end of discussion. You will only cry once with buyer's remorse. After that, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

I agree with this post regarding quality being worth it in the long term. However, whereas Bauer is no doubt the gold standard in compressors their retail price is also somewhat high compared to other manufacturers of excellent compressors.. My recommendation is to search Craigslist for used Bauers that have seen light duty If someone insists on purchasing a brand new compressor, the Alkin W31, Coltri MCH-6, the Daystate /Coltri's, and the Nardi Altanitc are all high quality compressors that can be purchased new at a much more affordable price than a new Bauer.

I am looking for my first compressor, I appreciate all the information provided in this and other posts. Seems like more than not people report their bad experiences vs. their good experiences. I am grateful and lucky to live in Phoenix Arizona but it is still a 50 mile round trip to Airguns of Arizona where I purchased my FX Crown to get my tank filled. I have not been shooting too much recently but plan too as the temps cool and I retire at the end of the year. Although I bought a high end rifle I can only afford around $1,500 +/- for a compressor. My thought is to get the Omega Super Charger 4500psi Compressor from AOA as if I have any issues it will be easy to get service done. I would appreciate any positive and negative experiences with the Omega Super Charger 4500psi Compressor.

Thanks
