PCP Air Gun Repairs

Good morning. I am hopeful the members on this board can recommend a PCP gunsmith in Northern Illinois. I am located near Crystal Lake and recently pulled the air guns out of the safe and the news is not too good.

I purchased several FX .22 cal air guns between 2002 and 2006. Actively shooting through 2010 or so (for various reasons) and stored the air rifles in a safe at full charge (200 bars). I pulled them out in May 2016 and the charge held just short of 200 bars – as I topped off all 3 rifles, they accepted air to 200 bars and when I pulled the carbon fiber line, then fully discharged to zero bars with a long and pronounce slow leak. They will charge to 200 when connected to air source and then discharge when pulled.

I tried Gat Guns, Cabela’s, Gander Mountain, and Dick’s for PCP repairs services – the clear answer was we sell them and no we do not repair, nor do we have a contact to share with you for repairs. I was going to utilize Allan Zasadny’s services but I learned he moved from Iowa to Idaho (I was hoping to drive them out).

So any recommendations on local Illinois PCP gunsmiths or perhaps an air gun club that has members who may repair PCP’s for a price. Thanks.
