Parallax Manipulation???????

Some people will tell you it is possible by turning the objective lens in or out ( forgot which way , google is your friend), but I would advise to call an expert on optical devices for good advice on this. Especially with argon-filled / other gas-filled scopes I would be very carefull. However, I would never buy a second hand scope that was manipulated like this.

-- on cheaper scopes --- i understand that the ring that screws over the objective lense can be unscrewed . then the lense can be removed , and the anchor ring inside the lense can be manipulated... just keep in mind that you will loose any adaptive airs inside the tube while fiddling around , looking for that perfect objective parallax setting (nitrogen/antifog). leapers has 3-9x40 mildot with parallax set at 35 yards. the 3-9x32 centerpoint at walmart is set at 50 yards. and academy sports has the bsa sweet 22 (3-9x40ao) scopes for around $50.

I have been unscrewing/backing off objective lens for years to use on short range weapons. Mostly on my pistol scopes. People say it will cause the nitrogen to leak out & will fog, so far I never had one fog. I do not back it out all the way just enough to get the parallax free image I want. I would not do it to a thousand dollar scope. It won't work on all scopes, some of them I tried I could not get obj lens to move. I don't force it much. Some scope companies will do it for you & that would be best.
