parallax adjustment while using gopro sideshot!

Any tips or tricks to make adjusting parallax easier for clear shots?

for example, when i make my 60 yds shots i have to adjust to that and have my phone out at the same time to make sure the image is clear before my shot, and if my next follow up shot is 100 yds i would have to adjust my parallax and when i do that my image gets blurry so i have to pull my phone out again to confirm the image clarity, is there any advice or tips on making it easier without pulling out my phone to check for clarity?

i was thinking about making tapes with yds on my prallax wheel.

So basically when you're GoPro sees everything perfectly clear you can see everything perfectly clear through the scope. Yet when you adjust the parallax to where it is perfectly clear to you. It is not clear on the GoPro right?

Do you use any type of corrective eyewear? Do you look through the scope with your naked eye or through corrective eye wear?

I believe when you adjust the parallax to your eye it is to your uncorrected eye. You are adjusting the parallax to your eye to where you can see it easily.

Yeah i would use tapes.

Getting old sucks. Been there and doing that.

With me i use corrective eyewear but my eyes can see the thru the scope and focus well with the same parallax as the gopro but when i adjust to my liking the gopro sees crap. I think my eyes can adjust and see what the gopro sees but the gopro cannot see what I like it focused to. Because of that Im thinking with me either my eyes have a range that it can focus well to, but the gopro is fixed and cannot see outside of a particular focus point

I recently experienced this using a Tactacam FTS and I'm trying to troubleshoot the issue. Through the scope the image appears to be in focus, but when replaying footage sometimes the reticle and images are not in focus. Now wondering if the issue may be: I need an eye exam or the parallax adjustment may be off. I've noticed that the parallax wheel does not agree with my laser rangefinder. On a couple of shots my POI is off with this scope and I found that very strange. This is the first time I've encountered this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Unless I spend a lot of time with these cams including the trigger cam I always have some issues. Many scopes' eye relief changes as you change the magnification So remember to focus the parallax to the camera with your external source ie phone at the magnification you want to film at. As the camera cannot change its distance from the retical as you change the zoom.

@Healthservices I leveled the reticle and made sure the image was focused using my phone before I left home. For me the problem seems to occur when I’m in the woods and animals appear at different ranges with a lot of foliage around and between us. I don’t know if it’s the camera or the scope. I’m thinking that the slop in my parallax knob may be an issue or I didn’t have the parallax focused precisely. Looking through the scope, I can’t see how I would miss a fuzzy image.

Yea, these things are definitely frustrating. I am at the point I want to try another style scope cam like the triggercam. The only advantage I see with the trigger cam is that you can change the distance/focus from the retical with a wheel on the triggercam. Hopefully that means I can focus the scope for me and separately for the triggercam? Dunno yet, don't have one.

@california.airgun So far it appears that I did not check the focus on my diopter before securing my Tactacam FTS to the scope’s body. In my footage, my shots were off and my reticle was blurry. I don’t recall the image looking that way to my eye. Today I removed the scope-cam and did a little target shooting to work in order to confirm my DOPE. Somewhere along the way I made an I noticed that part of my reticle was blurry. I started to adjust the diopter and it cleared up the fuzziness. It didn’t just affect my reticle clarity, but also my parallax adjustment, holds, and ultimately my POI. Perhaps you can check to be sure that the diopter (the adjustable ring on the ocular lens of the scope) is set properly and focuses clearly. I’ll know for sure when I reattach the camera.

I realize this is an old thread, but if you never worked out your issue this may be something to consider trying.
