Pallet gages? Mmmmmm!

Hi guys....after watching a few videos an “ how to’s” clean pellet, weight them an so for , someone said to “ measure the pellet head “ which raises a lot of questions, How do you measure a pellet head? Without make a mistake, can I use a $20.00 caliper or $300.00 ? Is there any thing else really accurate? Any opinions, advices are well come.

Hi, well ..... since I’m already sorting all the pallets which I found very tedious work, Not to mention frustrating because I found all 30+ different weights on 300 pellets Might as well measure the head of every single one I just need to find a faster way to do it, I guess if I’m gonna do it I’m gonna do it right , or I don’t do anything and I just shoot them out of the tin. I Hope that by the end it’s really worth it go to all these process.

I use a Pelletgage. I only have the .25. Is it worth it (extreme sorting)? Simple answer is that after you have spent all of that time and done it very well,... and you still get fliers and such,... you get be pretty sure (at least MUCH MORE sure) that it is NOT the pellets that are causing your issue. On weight, I can most always put at least one pellet in a 12 hole egg carton, with most to the middle, like a bell curve. That is only weighing to the xx.x place.

That is the elimination of a possibility/unknown. That is always good. I am not sure the average shooter has the skills or equipment to actually see the difference in sorting (because other things/factors) will be messing with the groups.

75 yards only sized with the Terry Robb Sizer set perfect. Not weighed. Straight out of the tin and only sized... Not a cherry picked group.
