PA video with Rossi in U.S. Marine uniform reviewing German Mauser replica!

Just wanted to make folks here, especially veterans, aware of this PA video with Rossi in a U.S. Marine uniform (fortunately with all insignia removed) reviewing a replica German weapon that was responsible for the deaths of untold numbers of American troops. http://www.pyramydair.com/video-details/Diana_Mauser_K98_Air_Rifle/477?trk_msg=FT54N5587E3KNB5EIEKS25J0GC&trk_contact=B3D9D36DU9SLSAKERCFTDHJTF0&trk_sid=QVUCA2FTROM5PH5S4THMFABDOK&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Outsyder+review+of+the+Diana+Mauser+K98+airgun&utm_campaign=Let%27s+take+this+outside! I have NO problem with replicas of ANY weapon from ANY country but to do it with him in an American uniform really makes me angry. Call me over sensitive but I find it to be an insult and just WRONG. Any Marine that served in the Corps for at least the last 75 years will recognize that uniform I was proud to wear instantly, insignia or not. I'd feel the same way if he was in any American uniform. Maybe they should have him in a Nazi SS uniform? I'm hoping this post doesn't get kicked to the back room where no one will see it like it did on another forum.
If this bothers you please send PA an email voicing your displeasure. In any event thanks for letting me vent.

As children are not taught the proper things, they and society forget the sacrifices of the past that secured their current freedom. All lessons of the past not remembered will be repeated unfortunately. To many foreign nationals and citizens are in the country with ideas and lives contrary to what the founding fathers of this country, the Constitution, Bill of Rights and subsequent generations demand. They are bent on recreating the Hell that they fled in this Country which was paid for by the blood of it's patriots. Today's children don't have a clue unfortunately and will inevitably give the country away if they don't wake up soon! :(

The true weapons of war are not machines nor mechanisms but rather they are aberrant ideas which pollute and infect the minds of the people changing them from family, friends and countrymen into the image and form of the enemy. The real battlefield is and has always been the mind! The only defense against this onslaught of the mind is the total embracing and practice of the one TRUTH which is ABSOLUTE and UNCHANGING throughout all of ETERNITY!

Excellent post. Thanks very much for making it. I have NO doubt that neither PA or Rossi meant any disrespect to veterans or this country. I just found it very insensitive. The fact is that hardly anyone would be aware of that being an American uniform but those of us that wore it recognize it immediately. No doubt I'm being a bit overly sensitive but I think I earned the right. Just wish they forgot about the military uniform.

OldCorps,
Thank you, very much, for your service! My response to your first post was "over-reaction"! But then you went more indepth and I agree with what you "hinted" at. I don't care for Rossi M. or the latest version of American Airgunner. It seems to me to be more " commercial" than I care for, but I'm just an old country boy. I guess we need to make room for the next generations of airgunners, but sometimes I have trouble keeping up with the new style of communication. As you said, I don't think any disrespect was intended.

You sound like the anti-gun nutbags who say guns kill people if you want to blame this gun. That gun is an inanimate object - blame the leaders and their politics but don't get worked up over a replica of a gun.

I served in the light infantry and don't like 'stolen valor' idiots wearing the uniform, but this guy wasn't trying to pass himself off as someone who served in uniform. The uniform should be respected and I think there was an effort to be respectful by not wearing ribbons or insignia that others worked hard to earn.

It's sad that society has devolved to where every little personal indignation becomes a social media cry for social justice.

Gentlemen,

First of all, let me say that I 100% did not mean any disrespect to this country, any Marines or Veterans or anyone who has fought for and/or sacrificed their lives for my freedom. I'm not a "young kid" that doesn't know any better. My grandfather served in WW2, my dad was in the service and I grew up with a great love and devotion for my country and all the men and women who serve.

you may not like my style, I may scream like a monkey and have a lot more fun shooting airguns than you might choose to have, but there's no need to ever question my loyalty or respect to this country because I dressed up for a gun review.

Also, in the future if you have a problem with something I'm doing, feel free to reach out to me directly. I'd be happy to hear from you.

I fully agree with you! Many of our young don't have a clue. I don't understand what you meant in your last statement of your post, I missed the connection.
Bruce
The last part of my post was referring to what I see happening today with too many ideas that are foreign to the American dream being incorporated into society which "splinters" and destroys the American Dream and the American way of life that prospered this country for quite a few generations now. One of these ideas is that Truth for each person is what they believe it to be and that your truth and my truth may not agree but both are truth. This is total nonsense. Truth is absolute and unchanging. This is just one of many ideas that now try to control the minds of once sane people. Don't believe this....well here is an example: No matter what one believes gravity exist and always has the same effect. Step off a high cliff and gravity will show the Truth about itself in a very permanent way! Tolerance of WRONG ideas will destroy mind, body and soul!

@RossiM your style is just a little too "energetic" for my taste. Kind of reminds me of a "Ron Popiel" Infomercial. Take a clue from some of those you have round table discussions with. Slow and steady wins the race.

wahoowad (Now There's a name!LOL) Appreciate your reply as well as your point of view. It's SO easy to misunderstand someone here on the innerweb but I can assure you I have no plans to undertake a sit-in or a protest demonstration at PA's headquarters. (smilin') I actually agree with everything you said except I think we should outlaw water because a couple of poor souls drowned in Michigan last week. Damned water! I NEVER felt that Rossi or PA meant any disrespect but seeing him in that uniform which I instantly recognized just hit me the wrong way and I felt I had to voice my displeasure. I did that, end of story. Thank YOU for serving as well.
Now about that damned water...............

Thanks for the reply Bruce. I agree with your 1st response-"over reaction". You see us old jarheads are just kinda wired that way, we have a tendency to have a short fuse. I have to admit that not "caring" for Rossi's delivery also contributed to my irritation. It'd be interesting to find out how many folks we see on TV and "don't care for" would be great people if we actually met them. Maybe even buddies. Rossi is obviously one of those after stepping up and responding here. I still "don't care" for the "yellin' and sellin" form of communication that he uses as do 90% of those commercials that thanks to a dvr I seldom have to tolerate. Maybe that only gets under the skin of old fart "get off my grass!!!" types like yours truly. LOL
Happy shooting my friend!

Rossi-REALLY appreciate you posting! You most obviously are a 1st class stand up guy! To re-state what I've already said several times, I KNOW no disrespect was ever intended to vets or our country. Damn, I don't think that'd do much for your ratings! I just felt that the US uniform (be it Marine or Boy Scout) was an ill-conceived idea when using a replica of that German Mauser. You probably had nothing to do with that idea anyhoo. I'm obviously a bit overly sensitive in anything along these lines (understatement here, lol!). I do not care for your delivery on AAG. That's MY problem. You might not care for the old whiny, poop-kickin' country music I've got blasting right now. That's YOUR problem. I wish you could mellow out and present the information at a slower pace, no need to make every statement comedic. This is JMHO. Maybe all viewers below 6 decades on the planet would zone out.
Just to console you and show you there's no hard feelings I'm now going to steel myself and watch a couple of AAG episodes I have recorded and haven't viewed yet. I'll just turn the volume down some...... If you ever venture up to Yankee land here in Mid-Michigan give me a shout out with a pm and bring a couple of those $2K+ air guns with you. I've got a BIG back yard, the targets are all set up and I try to keep both my 74 and 87 cubic foot tanks topped off.
Consider us all kissed (YUK!!!) and made up! My best to you.

I have met Rossi and I have served these United States in the uniform he wore. I find DO NOT find it offensive and suggest that the marketing people who undoubtedly were not knowledgeable in military uniform protocol grabbed the first army-navy store uniform they saw, on the cheap. LOL

On another note: I totally agree with Thurmond's excellent post...... for what my opinion is worth

Hey Ed,

lol...consider me consoled, held and all warm and fuzzy. I promise you that whiny, poop kicking' country your playing ain't as loud as the Red Dirt country I got blasting! Thanks for the email. We're just trying to have some fun and mix things up a bit. I never want to offend anybody...especially veterans. I can't imagine what you've seen and how it's affected you, but I'm sorry if it stirred up any of the bad stuff. I've got no problem if someone doesn't like me or thinks i'm too loud, but I had to let people know that I'm a proud American and always appreciate and respect those that have put there life in harms way for my freedom. And although I do respect you and Thurmond's opinion...I'm not gonna change for anyone!!;-)) If you ever meet me...you'll realize that my energy is what it is and I can't help it...plus airguns get me excited. I appreciate the email and thanks for watching the show.

Thank you for your service. Rossi

Rossi, glad to see you respond here. I now know you are more than just "a pretty face"😀 When I mentioned that I didn't care for you and AAG'er, I was speaking of the style of delivery. As was said here, that's My problem! But I must tell you that I do watch every one of your presentations, and I would not ask you to change anything. I think what you do is reaching new generations of airgunners that we desperately need to keep the growth of our sport on the upswing. I'm an old, slow dawg! I don't move or think fast enough to keep with with the likes of all these younger people today and I think you help bridge the gap between the generations. I know that you are not as"young" as a lot of the new generations of airgunners coming in but I think you do a good job of reaching out to them. Thanks!
Bruce
