Looking for some folks experiences with both. Soon I'm going to be searching for something to quiet it down some. I'm really wanting to find something that doesn't need to be taken off to fill it, or have the dust cover modified.
I just bought an extended shroud with two baffles from marmot militia and a 15" TJ barrel for my prod. I may add Jim's screw on p-rod mod once he has them in stock. So far it's pretty quiet and I don't have to modify the cap or remove the shroud to fill.
I make them with a short neck so that they do not need to be removed for filling, this allows a slightly larger OD for the body and makes them more effective. A lot of makers just make the complete LDC in a smaller diameter but they are not as effective, Neil.
I haven't tried either, sorry. Did have a marauder pistol though. I did try a much shorter , um, the plastic part that sides on the end of the barrel to locate the shroud, you know the whatcamacall it on the end of barrel. Replaced it with a very short rear vented tight dia stripper , much like the 1720T uses ( but closer tolerance) , added 2 rather short tight baffles, that did it for me. That said, in airguns volume is king, more or less.
