The capabilities of your rifle!       How about the capabilities of the shooter?

Come on Mike, don’t be so humble…… It takes a¬†competent¬†shooter to get target groups like that. Yes, the Raw you have is top shelf accurate, but it would¬†not preform as well in most other people’s hands my friend. I and others have posted targets here but still none are near as good as your original one and this recent post you did.

Give yourself credit dude! You won the hunter division last year at the EBR and would have been near there again I bet if you went this year. The¬†discipline¬†it¬†takes to get targets that perfect, is cultured over time and hard¬†practice. Even at 13 m…..You have taken the time to get to this level of shooting so don’t just credit the rifle. It can’t do a thing without the man behind the gun……!!!

Hopefully you will get the correct days off this year to compete at the the EBR.
     Again, great shooting Mike

Hey John, sorry I missed you at the Nats. I haven’t even got the scope yet. Sightron has shipped them to Hector for testing. He should be shipping them out to us in a week or so. I hope they are the cat’s meow? Maybe you can get in on the next batch?
Paul mentioned he might make a trip to the Sightron company here in North Carolina, so I know he is interested.

Jimmy, I have an email in to Sightron on a visit, but Chris C said he believes it is their corp offices there. Awaiting a response.

If I go that way for the Styer, I would want a diff reticle without the windage dots. Too busy for me…

I do want a full illuminated mil dot set up with the mil dots all the way down. No bars..

Just an update on calling Sightron for a visit and possible scope build up for my new Styer….No go! ¬†They do not have a retail operation there in Youngstown NC….Too bad.

Decided to join the fun. The only air rifle I have at the present is my Walther LGR SSP. It has a UTG Leapers 6-24 x 50 scope with Burris .22 Signature Rings. I am fortunate to be able to shoot on National Forrest land about 15 min from mt home in So Arizona. I set up on the tailgate of my truck with my rock BR and rear bag. I built a target stand to take along. The Walther shoots my 8.2g RWS Meisterkugeln pellets about 500fps so the wind is a factor as you can see on the target. I am a novice at reading the wind and several times I did the opposite of what I should have done. Here is the target:

Here’s a shot of my setup and target stand. I had to chase off the local herd which has grazing right to the canyon. You can see them behind the target stand.

The big Oak that provides shade.

    Couple shots of the Walther.

    Cool,
Thanks for joining in on the fun Gwelo. Looks like you have your own slice of heaven out there in Arizona.
I’m the same way with reading the wind. Maybe I’ll buy some wind flags and try to start learning it one of these days?
Wow, that single stroke pneumatic is quite deadly at less than 5 FPE. I couldn’t imagine shooting in Arizona wind, much less with a Springer ūüėČ
My hat is off to you sir!
    Keep those targets comin’ ūüėČ

    Peace and wind flag grease

Gwelo, Glad you could join us…Nice shooting and off the back of a pickup..!.

What type pellet are you¬†using?¬†Your holes are nearly perfect. Looks like a wad cutter type (flat head) I suspect…

Thanks strikefast. Yes, they are RWS 8.2g wadcutters. I printed the target on 110# card stock from WallWorld and backed it up with a thin sheet of plywood. Makes for a nice clean hole.

Fuss, you probably didn’t notice the sophisticated wind flags I use (two pieces of ribbon I got from my wife that are stapled to the bottom of the target stand). Hard to see but you can just make out one in the pic of the tree.
Also, I shot the target from the bottom up so 96-100 were early on and it kinda went down hill from there. The LGR is a nice 10 meter gun so I thought 13 meters would be doable. I really, really need a new PCP!  The Steyr LG110 High Power Hunting looks awesome!
    Thanks for the nice welcome!

Wow, never even heard of a Walther LGR. Had to google it. Sounds like you got a workout as well ūüėČ

96 through 100 is flat out beautiful. Looks like you mastered it on the last 5 shots!
