Thanks for the kind words. But don't let this become a bromance dude! LOL I just do what needs to be done, that's all. I am very pleased you turned me on to the "Dark Side". it is tough to shoot powder burners all the time. Especially needing a secure backstop and hearing protection. The air gun's don't suffer from these restrictions as much. (except a secure backstop). However the backstop can be a lot thinner then when shooting a .300 Win Mag....LOL

I have also found the air gun community to be a hell of a lot more cordial then many other pursuits, Some of the fishing and hunting forums I used to be associated with have sooooo many attitudes that I no longer follow them. Too much drama and posturing... The air gun folks are always glad to help a fellow enthusiast out with advice without trying to boost their status as an "expert". This I like! Hey, my motto is "you can always learn something new" I do it every day it seems. Think of Mike Mannabe.. The guy won the Hunter 25 meter at the Extreme Bench rest last year, and he is telling me he expects I will get to 250 before him....No prideful boasting from him, just encouragement.....Way to go Mike, and Thanks for being humble, Not many people like that anymore.......

Not having an addictive personality,....Yeah! Sure.... . I just like to do things the best I can, if I get it right, good! If not, oh well, I need more practice!

Thanks to you Jimmy, I do appreciate the fact that we live close to each other and share this obsession. I imagine some folks are envious that we can get together anytime to shoot at our home ranges.... Na Na Na Na Na.....Only kidding folks! keep the targets coming! It makes me try harder!

Well Mike I didn't do that 250 yet but I did manage a 244 2X. I did it with the Daystate MK4 in .177 It was low wind and a slight drizzle during the shoot.

I have not been able to get the new FX 400 .22 to do that well yet. The 238 8X is the best for it so far. What scope are you using and at what power when you did the EBR in AR.? 

Also what state do you live in...

Don't give up! They way you are making your way around a benchrest target, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 250 within a month.

My best so far has been a 248 10x, but I trying real hard to get that elusive 250

At the EBR, the scope I was using was a Hawke 8-32 x 56 Sidewinder set at 32X

Well there goes the "maybe we could get together with Jimmy and shoot some" idea...lol a little too far for a truck ride.

I will keep on trying but with the Daystate, as I am using it in the Field target Nationals next month. Need to stay with the one gun so as not to get confused by shooting the others.When the nationals are out of the way I will concentrate on the FX 400 to get it set for benchrest, It is almost there but needs a little more tweaking. I have a Falcon T50 on it now but I am not sure I will keep it on there. 

If you go to the EBR this year, good luck. You are Jimmy's and my idol with that RAW of yours..... 

Well this was my last practice run yesterday before EBR, 249/15X slight tail wind. So Ms. Ginb is packed away till the shoot. The only thing left to do is pray to the wind Gods for no wind during my relay. So you guys there

Thanks, forecast is for cooling down, mid 90's . I was hoping for 110 degrees since I live here I thought I could at least melt some of the competition. 

I finally get to enter this fun event after watching everyone else here for so long. This is with my new RAW HM1000x .25 cal. shooting 25.39 grain JSB Kings. I wanted to try and duplicate Mikes Manabe's original entry before I move back to further distance's. This is at 13 yards bench rested, scope Primary Arms 4-14x44ffp at 14x. The target circles are 5/16"(8mm) on 8 1/2"x11" paper. The upper shots above the black line were sorted for head size at 6.37mm from my first tin. The ones below the line are unsorted from my second tin. The thing that surprised me the most was that all 120 shots on this target plus 6 sight in shots and the one random with the ? next to it were shot on one full charge of the 480cc bottle! WOW! You can see the last 5 at the bottom were shifting right as the pressure got to low. I started at 230 Bar and ended at 60 bar. I'm sure it would have been noticeable much sooner at longer ranges. I did not have to compensate my hold at all at 13 yards. Boy my eyes start to get buggy after that many shots. Haha!



The shot with the question mark was the first shot after a break I took. I was using a fire wood round that wasn't split yet for a back stop but I got a couple ricochets from it so I got out my new bullet trap and set it up behind my target. Its scary shooting a .25 at such close range! Much better! Anyway I think the regulator pressure changes if it sits for awhile. My regulated Mrod does the same thing. I have learned to waste the first couple shots then it will be back to its normal POI. The same appears to be true with the RAW.

The RAWs shoot extremely well. I jau had two guys atvtge nationals shooting on my squad with TM 1000's beautiful and accurate.

Question what power and speed are you shooting. Did you crony it?

The reason I ask is it looks like several pellets were sprawling by the looks of the paper elongated holes. Might be shooting hot...???

Actually I think what's happening is that the cardboard backer has some holes in it from previous shooting and the larger holes do not support the paper of the target and allows it to rip. I have noticed that when shooting at unsupported paper that happens a lot more. I have measured it with my chronograph and it is shooting slower than I thought it would. I figure the factory must have tuned it for maximum accuracy rather than power. Its pushing the JSB 25.39 at 880 fps. So not hot at all for this gun. I was expecting 950-960. I have just e-mailed Martin about this in fact. Still waiting for a reply.

That would definitely explain the tearing. Darn fine shooting by the way. You are doing Mike fine with that card. Sweet looking rifle, and worth the wait I bet.... Now get that 100 yd Wanna be like Manabe target going.....lol Challange Jimmy with his .25 Cricket... Camp Fussel are you seeing this?

Thanks guys! This is a lot of fun! It is only 13 yards though. I'm sure longer distance's will be the real test. On that note, 20 yards here I come. :-D

Nice shooting 30cal, it might only be 13yds but it is a challenge to put a pellet in those tiny circles and just plain old good fun to go with it.

Thanks for getting me going Allen, I have been away from this thread for too long.

I decided to shoot a Challenge Target,trying to keep all my shoots within the 1/4 inch circles(target can be found here; http://airgunnation.dev/topic/share-your-printable-targets-here/#post-2336 ...just click on next til you find the target) The distance is only 13m, because that is all I have available in my little apartment. Not too many places to shoot in the city. And it give people with limited ranges a chance to participate. Shooting 100 shots at 100 targets will really give you a perspective on the capabilities of your rifle. This is how I train for my Benchrest Competitions
