Our "Wannabe like Manabe" challenge ;-) 4/25/15

Brother Mike, I just want you to know this was all Renae's idea ever since she's seen your killer wrapping paper and that awesome post you did on the 120 shot target ;-)

She want's to start this challenge in hopes that others will post theirs as well ;-)

We didn't have the weather in our favor today and tried to shoot in between and through the misting rains. Started out on the picnic table but had to move our setup under the trusty ol' covered back porch.
Renae started off with "Her Majesty" (.177 M-rod) but something was just off with it today so we scratched that target.
Here was the start of our set up. Got Ed Canole's 100 shot bulls attached to the pellet trap sitting on a trash can at 20 yds from the picnic table.

The rain came and moved us up to the porch, so we grabbed the ol' .22 cal FX 400. Moved the target so it would still be in 20 yd range and let Renae have at it.
We were shooting off of my Tack Driver bag with the scope set on 20 power. Had the butt of the rifle shoulder rested with no rear bag.

Renae's 50 shots

I went for 60 shots.......and she still smoked me ;-)

I also wanted to see what I could do with the .177 Air Arms S500 , so here's 60 shots with it at the same 20 yds. I had the scope on 12 power and shot this with my attached bi-pod with no rear bag.

Anyway, that's our "I wanna be like Manabe" challenge! Also, I wanna be like Ed Canoles, but Manabe just has a better ring to it ;-)

Maybe tomorrow will bring some friendlier weather and we can do another "I wanna be like Mike" event!

We love ya her at Camp Fussell Mike!
Peace and Wannabe grease

I'm up for the challenge. I was planning on shooting tomorrow in the afternoon anyways so I'll set up my table, print out a couple of Ed's 100 bull targets and have at it. I Wanna Be Like Mike too. This will also be a good opportunity to see if the Speedy Pellet Inspector http://www.airgunproducts.com/ was worth it. I'll shoot one card with my sorted pellets, and another with pellets out of a fresh tin.

Thanks John, It will be interesting to see if that Speedy Pellet Inspector makes some difference? We shot the FX scoped at 20 power. I shot the AA S500 scoped at 12 power.
Can't wait to see what you do tomorrow .
Peace and Speedy Pellet grease ;-)

"Michael"Sounds fun. Now "if I could only find the time that I want to kill".
Michael, Renae said "you guys should be proud of us.....we didn't blow anything up today......we were actually target shooting!!!!"LOL
Those little dots are so much harder to hit than those 2 liter bottles? LOL

Hey man, what are you gonna shoot in the challenge? That 9 mm will make some big holes? And costly on the ammo ;-)

Very interested on your thoughts on the "Speedy Pellet Inspector" Perhaps you could do a review on it?
Thanks John

Excellent post thanks for sharing. And all good groups.
The Family that shoot's together, Lives. My shooting buddy Tammy has an AA410 mostly shoots Chicken eatin varmits, tin cans and Field Target if she EVER got a Saturday off. Airgun's are good family fun and practice. Tammy never did like LOUD even with ear muff's but she does enjoy airguns.

Happy shooting,
John

Hey Renae! Good Morning...mmmm coffee sounds really good right now. Time for some Cat Scat Coffee...lol
Cat Scat LOL!, problem is we would have to drink up our courage with that bottle of Stagg you gave me before we tried it ;-)
We've been drinking Eight O' Clock Colombian Peaks for the last couple of years ;-)
CK emailed me and I sent him the target files to Ed's 100 bulls this morning. Hope the weather holds out for him!

Well I started out for the Manabe/ fussel challenge, was going to shoot 15 yards but couldn't get the scope to give me a clear sight picture
set the target at 20 yards and put the magnification down to 8x - that's really low for me!
Also when I say it was windy well----

ill try to post the photo of my 100 shot target. I don't really have any luck getting the photos to stick on this site
all shots taken in one sitting with the FX 400 unregulated .22 cal

Oh my god CK, that's some wind!!!!! Bajeebus......I thought we had wind? LOL
We just got through shooting another round today.
We thought the wind was bad here, so I stuck the pellet trap at the end of the mobile home as it was helping to block most of the wind. Only problem was our rest is set up to shoot out in the back yard and there is no where to rest your elbow when shooting from it like Renae is in the video.
So, yes we shot a little video too, but nothing like yours as far as the wind! Don't know how in the hell you plan to shoot in that weather????LOL

Renae's 50 shots at 14 yds with the FX 400 .22 unregulated with scope on 20 power

and mine

It ain't easy trying to shoot like Manabe ;-)
